John Christ - Flesh Caffiene.
Ex-Danzig guitarist doing some awesome hard rock with some cool guitar action. I was finally able to find this online and am pretty impressed so far.

Between The Buried And Me - Colours

Really don't get the big deal. Ooh, they ripped everyone from Muse to Pink Floyd off, then added a bit of Metal and wrote a few ten minute songs. Fine, it's not actually BAD, but it's not the genius some people seem to think it is.

that's what i thought at first and then i actually listened to it and it's great. it's playful but at the same time deadly emotional, kinda like Devin Townsend. it's an easy album to hate if you approach it critically, but if you just sit back, let them do their thing, not think about it too much, and listen then its amazing.

Yeah, but I was more like 'oh, they ripped the Devster off as well'...

Holy shit I didn't know anyone else on this board liked Hocico. Amazing band.

and +1 on John Zorn's naked city. Crazy shit. I got into it after watching Funny Games and thinking "wow that song is the craziest shit I've ever heard" then coming home and finding out it's actually another Zorn spawn, a guy I've not heard nearly enough, clearly.

+1. You could take pretty much any album and rag on about how they ripped this band off and whatnot. It's pointless to focus on that sort of thing.

Oh come on, there's being influenced by a band and creating your own sound from it, and then there's blatant plagiarism. Guess which one BTBAM fit into?

it doesn't matter that it's plagiarism. the point of Colors is how they put the different parts together in the songs and make a huge festival of epic metal awesomeness.
