Couldn't you make a case for Equilibrium going in Black? And Volbeat are Rock, no? I mean to review that for next week, so we'll see then, haha.

I don't know about black, it's more of a viking/folk to me. You are the boss though, so if you say it should go in black I'd move right away. Oh and Nessy already put it here as well.

You're right about Volbeat. I didn't want to put it in rock because that was the only rock album I've heard the whole year.

I've not listened to the Equilibrium enough to say one way or another (despite everyone telling me to) so if everyone thinks it should go in here, then in here it goes.

Yes to Haggard and I think I want to put Hollenthon here especially due to the orchestral elements in their latest.

I've been wondering about that too. I could be wrong but imo Battlelore belongs in power metal - 70% power/20% death/10% folk - something like that.

Equlibrium is Viking Black.
Eluveitie is Melodic Death mixed with Folk. They sound like Clayman era In Flames with a flute and violins.
To me folk is just a diffrent shade of a genre. Like Blackened Thrash. Or Progressive Thrash like Voivod. Or Progressive Death like Cynic. These bands have still the core of what genre they are.

All albums were borderline genres, because black metal was alwasy a mix of death, thrash, heavy and doom metal.
