And it's not avant garde or something strange. If you would listen to it, you would recognize, that Scream Aim Fire is 80% Bay Area Thrash Metal.

Well if they haven't changed drastically since theiur debut I strongly doubt that... And no offence, but the fact that you're the one saying this doesn't surprise me at all..

But the point is - like Trivium on Crusade - BfmV HAVE changed their sound on Scream Aim Fire. The metalcore is not so extreme. The vocals are not so harsh. The Riffs are more Metallica like. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WoT1oRnSK88 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5kaS1qmiysw http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hO9kGDNy ... re=related

Satyricon should be black metal, right? And Ihsahn really should be in the progressive thread rather than the black metal thread but that's my opinion.

Not even fifty percent of Metallica's albums are thrash.

Edit: And Venom isn't Black Metal. And I refuse to argue this point; it's a fact.

Satyricon Death? Cradle of filfth Black? Venom Black?
I'm astonished.

Finally Enslaved is considered black?

I'd call Enslaved and Cradle black, for want of a better label. Venom are Thrash, no? Not heard the new one... And Satyricon are not Death Metal.

But Scream Aim Fire sounds 80% like the Metallica Albums that are Thrash - (and there are more than 50% - at least 5 of 9  )

And if Venom Hell is not Black Metal, then Darkthrones current release as well.

Enslaved I also think is black, but there's a lot of people considering it progressive.

Venom... Thrash or Metal, but not black...

For Cradle, I considered them black in their ol' times, but now they're more gothic/dark with black vocals.

Ok I would agree - at least for Nymphetamine and Thornography - but Godspeed ist just like in the "ol' times"! That's the whole point of this album. Godspeed is not much different compared to Midian or Dusk and Her Embrace, whereas the vocals are more varied.

Don't let's go through this again. There is a woefully underused Dark Metal forum, all, if Moonspell fit there so do Cradle.

Yes, I just contradicted myself. Geddoverit.

I labeled Enslaved progressive since that is what the review by Zad labeled it as.

I also urge people to check out the new Arghoslent album if they haven't. It's death metal plus NWOBHM and it's awesome.

I really can't see how anyone could compare CoF to Krallice, DsO, Xasthur, Leviathan or Nachtmystium?
