yeah, it's quite fucked up, not that i'm particular fond of gay people, but I believe in equal rights for everyone. It's scary how religious people can limit the freedom of others and define how they should live their lives.
Anywho, i'm glad that Obama won, and I hope for the american population that he will fix the healthcare system so everybody can affort the health insurance in some way or another, I hope for better communication and diplomacy concerning foreign policy, and hopefully he will be more cooperative when it comes the other political party . Weither or not he will have any influence on fixing the economy, I dunno. I have lot's of expectations, but as one danish expert said: " Europeans are going to get dissappointed, cuz we don't know his political program, only his carisma and history (...and blackness, for that matter)."
Weither or not "we" were persuaded by carisma, retoric, and empty promises only time will tell.
The only thing I don't like about Obama won the election is that a great amount of people voted on him basicly because he's half-black. That annoys me, and it's hardly counterbalanced by all the people who voted on McCain because he's white. On the other hand, next time a black president run for president it won't be that big a deal.
I'm also happy that McCain didn't win, cuz he moves his arms in funny way and had weird thumbs and Palin was a religious bitch, and both really liked spending alot of time on the dishonest smear campaign strategy, hardly doing any justice to his own history.
We have our fair share of racists and bigots too. Still, most Americans coming over do tend to be like those In Bruges, if y'al have seen that. I dread to think how your average Frenchman would react when faced with, say, some of those that booed at McCain's concession speech.
