Love this band. It's a good album but I still prefer the slightly rawer but much more epic first two albums (especially Jormundgand, their debut).

Their new one, Kaoskult, brings back more keys and falls a bit short, IMO. A lot are saying it reminds them of recent-era Enslaved. I couldn't judge, but Helheim does fit the bill with Enslaved, at least if you compare their older albums to the likes of Frost or Eld.

I haven't really heard their old albums, but I sure love the new stuff. I feel that Kaoskult is slightly better than this, and I love that one too. Maybe because I'm very into this kind of Black/Viking Metal. Enslaved is one of my favourite bands.

Somehow I feel Helheim is the bastard child of Enslaved. I know, I know. It sounds mean but it's not meant to. I mean by that they I find they've "evolved" their sound much in the same way Enslaved has.

I guess not, considering all the praise Enslaved gets. I got my hands on Ruun Saturday and I actually enjoy it, so I guess it's not a bad thing. It's just a matter of me not knowing much of recent Enslaved, really.
