Miss

Disappointing. Too slow and not enough to keep me excited. I was getting bored about halfway through.

Miss, but not by much.
I like their earlier material a lot more than their last few CDs.

Hit, the production kinda sucks but the album has some reaaly great tunes on it and of course Ripper just owns the whole album.

I listened to Night of The Stormrider and Alive in Athens and thought they were fucking amazing pieces of work. Seriously, i should have been more openminded the first time i listened to these guys. The vocalist is really fucking powerful. I won't check out the newer stuff until i am familiar with their old releases.

I think "Framing Armageddon" is an ok album all the way through, although it takes a little downward slope towards the end. It's more epic and more bombastic than any previous Iced Earth album and the music is much more centered around the conceptual story than any other IE disc. What I don't like is the overall guitar sound. It doesn't sound alive or fresh, but rather something that has been made and has gone through numerous "production-stuff" in order to sound this way. I also don't think Tim has the voice to carry on such a mighty and bombastic album as this. Although he does sound for the most part great (I feel that it is during "Ten Thousand Strong" and "A Charge To Keep" that he really comes through), the vocal melodies on some of the other tracks are really drawn out and his voice sounds thin and maybe a bit unemotional? Hey, I might be in the minor league but this is how I feel about it.

You see, "Framing Armageddon" is a good album overall, but I'm just so much better to talk about what I dislike instead of pointing out what I actually find worthwhile... :P

So for me it's leaning more towards hit than miss.

I think from Night of the Stormrider to Something Wicked, every Album is a Hit. But from Horrorshow to The Crucible of Men, every Album is a miss.

Hit. Fantastic album.

Only drawback is the absence of Barlow.

Well I don't think I need to say what my opinion is. it should be pretty obvious.
