And it totally slays! Man I want a whole album like this! Unfortunately this will probably not feature on their next one, since it's made for a game. Trailer is pretty cool though.

I just wet myself.

Btw, on the subject of metal bands with videogames, does anyone know anything about the Sonata Arctica game, Winterheart's Guild I think it was called...

Man, that song is awesome. Its been a few years since the new album now, is this a sign that they're writing again?

According to wikipedia the band more likely won't be releasing a new album before 2010.

And that song is awesome I hope they do put that song on the new album.

That song was ok, nothing spectacular. i am pleased that its not the overblown pompous bullshit that ANATO was, nor is the Jap pop rock crap that I could hear on the last one.

Song is pretty good. Pisses me off they always take so long to release an album though. Dicks.

The fact that there's always a long time between releases shows that they like to take their time and not just rush out an album, which is why they've remained consistent.

On the contrary, it wasn't always like this. For their first six albums, the intervals between albums were 1, 2 or, at most, 3 years. And those were also their best albums, imo.

Coming back to this song, I can't help to notice that it's short, not overblown and catchier than anything on their last 2 albums. That's definitely because the conditions imposed by the game developers. Thos guys who make Sacred should force BG to write a whole album like this. I doubt they'll do it on their own.

I peed a little when I saw this thread.
Kick ass song for real.

I even love Hansi as a video game character. Ha!

It is a shame that they will take so long to make a new album, this song teases way too much. The blue balls of metal. [not that i'd know.]

Haha.

What is this "orchestral project" anyway? Does anyone have any info on it?

Great song. Totally looking forward to the new album (particularly since I loved ATITM and really don't understand what everybody's problem was with it).

Pretty awesome. The last album had some great songs but BG just needs to strip down their songs like in The Edge and This Will Never End. Simple heavy metal tracks would make BG so much more tolerable and badass.

Well the only reason I don't like ATITM is because I love the "old" Blind Guardian too much. Old Blind Guardian albums occupy 4 of my top 15 metal albums of all time. There is just too noticeable of a difference between those four albums and the last two. I understand that BG's transformation had to happen. After Nightfall in Middle Earth, I knew that the old Blind Guardian was saying goodbye. ANATO does have two excellent songs, well I'll say three: Battlefield, The Soulfourged (this song is excellent), and And then there was Silence. ATITM had, in my opinion, only one good song - "Otherland", I think that's what it was called. So I'm not saying you shouldnt like it, I just hope that helps explain my position and reasons for not liking the album.

I agree. ATITM didn't have any killing songs, usually everything on a BG album is killer. Personally I hated ANATO when it was released, but I started loving it more and more, and today I think it's an amazing album. Other than the obvious killing songs, I love Precious Jerusalem, Under the Ice, The Maiden and the Minstrel Knight and Wait for an Answer. The only worthwhile song on ATITM, for me, is This Will Never End.

Actually, Another Stranger Me is probably my favorite BG song. But I agree that those ANATO songs also kick ass. Especially Precious Jerusalem and The Maiden And The Minstrel Knight.

Seinfeld, I may have asked you this already, but where in Michigan do you live? I'm in Lansing, and it sucks, I imagine its not much different for you.
