I realise this is getting old, but I'm looking for some music recommendations.

I've basically stopped listening to metal because most of my favourite bands have disappointed me in the last few years (Blind Guardian, Iced Earth, Into Eternity, Zero Hour, Dream Theater, Ayreon.)

The stuff that I still listen to is basically Devin Townsend, Nevermore, The Mars Volta and Converge. If you guys could recommend a few albums that I'd like based on those four bands, that'd be great.

Off the top of my head/from my review list:

Alarum - Eventuality
Burst - Origo (more 'core) or Lazarus Bird (more prog)
Down I Go - Tyrant
Dillinger Escape Plan - Ire Works
Ephel Duath - Painter's Palette
Still Oppror - S.02
Klimt 1918 - Just In Case We'll Never Meet Again
The Provenance - Red Flags
Scar Symmetry - Holographic Universe
Ihsahn - angL
Pin-Up Went Down - 2 Unlimited
Alchemist - Austral Alien, Organasm, Tripsis, Spiritech
In Battle - Kingdom Of Fear

They should all have myspaces, I've reviewed most of them. Pretty mixed bag!

Wow, thanks guys. The only thing I've actually heard here is The August Engine, which is cool as fuck, as is The Locust Years.

I got my hands on The Painter's Palette and it's sounding like my style of music, although it feels kind of disjointed at the moment, but I'm sure I'll love it.
