Playing some Quake!!

Just finished Mass Effect, fucking awesome game. Can't wait for the sequel.

Will Half Life 2 work with a less than stellar graphics card, but decent (1.8 odd) processor? Plenty of RAM...

Awesome game, just beat it again last week. The ending sucked though. KOTOR 1 was better story-wise.

Which Quake?

I thought Crysis was somewhat overrated, the graphics were jawdropping, but the gameplay wasn't that good. Also IMO it just went to shit when they put in the aliens, then you couldn't use stealth any more and you're just shooting your way to the end.

Started playing Resistance: Fall of Man a while ago, good shooter, but not as good as COD4. Then my bro got Command and Conquer: The First Decade and I decided to check out the first C&C, and Jesus fuck is it still addictive. Can't wait for Red Alert 3, though I'm probably going to have to get it on PS3 since my computer is a turd.

Easily. There isn't a better optimized game out there. There are so many options to tweak the game performance that you can play it on a 1.7 GHz Celeron with 256 RAM and a GeForce 2 Mx. That's what I did

Awesome. No point in getting back into games if all I'm going to do is mess around on Alpha Centurai every so often.

And Zad if you can't play Hitman 2 it's going to be tough for Half Life 2.

Call of Duty 4...on a PS3

god it sucked compared to the 360. hosts kept ending games, connections for every player were always 1 or 2 bars, connection interuptions every other match, every idiot using a voice modifier, people crying that they can't snipe on this level and ending the game, all of this got quite annoying. You may have to pay for X-Box Live, but you can tell that they try at Microsoft to get their online to work. I really wanted to get a PS3, but this has really slowed down the process.

I'm having some problems with the PS3 too. I can't finish MGS4 because it won't read the disc. I can play for a while, well actually I can play for as long as I want to, but if I enter the menu and go to the item screen and then try to go back into the game, that disc loading thing appears in the top left corner, and it never goes back into the game again. All I can do is reset the game, but when the console starts up it won't read the disc, no matter how many times I try, or even if I switch game. It can read DVDs however, which is kind of fucked.

I've been able to work around this problem earlier in the game, but now I'm at a point in the game where, if I try to progress further, it switches to a cut-scene and the loading thing happens again, and I'm fucked.

Apparently this is a pretty common problem with the 40GB version of the PS3, it's a fucking shame with such a ridiculously expensive console.

Oh, also, when it stops reading discs, I can wait for around 2-3 hours, and suddenly it starts reading discs again. How fucked is that?

That sucks, my buddy has the 40 gig version and if it happens to him then I must be a dick to him for he was to me when my 360 red ring'd.

Is it fixable? Or do you just have to get a new system?

I don't think so, I couldn't find any help through google. I tried the PS3 forums, but they were all douche bags, no help at all.

I'm really looking forward to Fallout 3.

Give me a break dude, I've been playing this since December online, with no problems whatsoever..... i'm like in my fifth prestige mode so if it was as awful as you're saying I'd never have gotten that far. As for the whiny players there is as many on xbox than ps3 and if the voices annoyed you that much you could have simply muted the players that were bothering you.

I<ve had my 40GB PS3 for a year now and never had that problem weird....

I read somewhere that like 20% of the consoles have that problem.
