But that's actually really sad, considering he might be our next president.

how do these people manage to breathe and, like, function in society

They're damn scary aren't they? That's the kind of blind US ignorance that I'm talking about. These people are superstitious nutjobs!!!

Oh, BTW, Ms. "family values", Sarah Palin, her 17 year old daughter is currently ranking with Britney Spears and her sister. Yes, she's pregnant. These people had better not start spouting their family values rhetoric. As for Mr. John McCain, I welcome anyone to do some digging on his past. He's an asshole. He couldn't keep his junk in his pants when he was married to his first wife and he divorced her once he realized she had been physically "altered" after 23 surgeries due to a horrific car accident that she was in while he was in Vietnam. He applied for the marriage license to marry his current wife before had received the official divorce from the 1st wife.

Great guy!!

The amount of conspiracy theories surrounding the poor bitch already is astounding. I heard that her most recent kid, the one with Downs, is actually her daughter's, and you can tell from a photo of the daughter where she looks fat. It is rather strange, however, that Palin herself got on a plane in Texas to return home to Alaska to apparently have the baby - whilst leaking amniotic fluid all over the place, which makes her an insane see dot dot tee in my eyes. And what's with the Hilary groupettes wanting to switch votes to Palin just because they're both women? Politics in America needs to catch up with politics the rest of the world, methinks. We had a lady leader; she was shit. Let's see if the black guy can do any better.

I was listening to these ladies talk at my workplace. They were excited because Palin came second in a beauty pageant and has a down syndrome baby. They somewhere came up with the idea that she had year and years of political experience. My head wanted to explode and I wanted to yell at them but I try to maintain niceties and some level of respect at my job so I bit my tongue.

American politics has become so diametrically divided that people who want something in between just hop between parties over one personal issue or something meaningless.

Christ, the girl is actualy preggers! And getting shotgunned to the father, who has a DUI conviction. My god.

The more I read about this Palin woman, the less I like her. She opposes abortion even in cases of rape and is against condoms and the pill even for married couples.

McCain must be weeping into his slippers. Still supporting him, Seinfeldy?

Q: Are you offended by the phrase "Under God" in the Pledge of Allegiance? Why or why not?

PALIN: Not on your life. If it was good enough for the founding fathers, its good enough for me and I’ll fight in defense of our Pledge of Allegiance.

The God bit was added in 1954.

damn... poor girl. I bet Palin is putting so much pressure on her right now. "She will have the baby, and she will marry the father".

-Palin wants to swap out sex-education programs for abstinence-only programs.
-Palin supports creationism being co-taught with evolution.
-Palin believes global warming may not be entirely a man-made phenomenon, and Palin also believes global warming might not even being happening.
-Palin does not feel that crimes motivated by discrimination against sexual orientation should be classified as hate crimes, because in her opinion “all heinous crime is based on hate.”

Abstinence only education obviously fails since it didn't prevent her daughter from getting knocked up. Oh and the Pledge of Allegiance was wrote in the 19th century.

Here is another good part out of what Zad posted:
Quote:
12. In relationship to families, what are your top three priorities if elected governor?
JB: I will always support and work to strengthen families.
SP: 1. Creating an atmosphere where parents feel welcome to choose the venues of education for their children.
2. Preserving the definition of “marriage” as defined in our constitution.
3. Cracking down on the things that harm family life: gangs, drug use, and infringement of our liberties including attacks on our 2nd Amendment rights.

Or this where she contradicts the question.
Quote:
Question: Do you support the Alaska Supreme Court’s ruling that spousal benefits for state employees should be given to same-sex couples? Why or why not?

SP: No, I believe spousal benefits are reserved for married citizens as defined in our constitution.

She's a secessionist: http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalpunch ... -frin.html

“So Sambo beat the bitch!”

This is how Republican Vice Presidential nominee Sarah Palin described Barack Obama’s win over Hillary Clinton to political colleagues in a restaurant a few days after Obama locked up the Democratic Party presidential nomination.

The right wing of politics, ladies and gentlemen.

That article, however probably it may seem, is too dubious for me to take seriously.

That Jon Stewart bit was funny. I'm tired of this Karl Rove politics where they shift what they criticized Obama for into what they commend Palin for. A good example is this whole bridge-to-nowhere debacle where they completely deny the reality that she supported it to say that she opposed it as an example of her budget skills.

Newsracks are filled with magazines with Palin on the cover with titles like 'baby scandal!' or 'successful mother of five'.

It just came up that Palin said that G-O-D is leading the troops in Fallujah and that JC likes the Alaska Pipeline. Her church also advocates that Israeli deaths from terrorism are god's judgement.

That'll endear her to them, especially if Netanyahu or Mofaz gets in. The worst thing about this is that I can see the Repubs winning it, simply because PALIN is a MOM and MCCAIN got TORTURED.

I think both McCain and Obama are really bad choices for president. Let's face it: McCain is a Republican candidate like we've seen a dozen times before, and now he is getting outshined by his vice presidential candidate. Obama on the other hand is playing the 'time for change' card a little too much and I fear he is thinks being president of one of the most influential countries in the world is just a walk in the park.

Honestly, were there no better candidates to choose?

I think both cantidates suck too. And it's a sad day when you have to vote on the cantidate that sucks less.

Let it be known, I'm not voting. I think we're fucked either way.

Obama's definately the better candidate. Have you guys actually listened to any of his speeches? He's not taking anything lightly. And now that McCain's trying to steal the 'change' meme...

Admittedly I would prefer the ticket to be reversed, because Biden seems a great guy. Awesome speaker, better than Obama.

Edit: how you can say Obama isn't better than Palin is beyond me.

Every time I see something of the elections on tv it just makes me laugh. It´s like wachting 1 big circus. At the speeches you see all these idiots holding and waving signs with Obama or Mccain on it.

I know choosing a new president is very important, but the whole circus around it is just a little to much.
