Even though I really like The Ruiner, I find Christmas not to be as schitzophrenic and all-out scathing as she is on say, Coward. That album is just out of the this world. She sounds like Bjork having a psychotic episode at times.

Although if one really wants to hear Julie Christmas at her best (or worst, depending on your view), it's on Battle of Mice that it happens. That album is definitely one of the most disturbing, physically and mentally draining sludge experiences right next to Neurosis's Through Silver In Blood, although not as disgusting and greasy as the latter.

Thanks, guys.

Love this place as the reviews are great and it's not full of stupid brainless kids like say, Blabbermouth. Great place to get news but their reviews... no thanks.

I heard that "RUN FOR YOUR LIVES" song (can't remember the name) and I really liked it.

And I hope I'm not the only one to find the cover of Coward really hard to look at.

Nope, you're definitely not...

Coward's "artwork" is one of the most disturbing I can think of. Forget the dark, satanic imagery or the over-the-top gore coverarts of the likes of God Among Insects or Yattering... the kid on Coward's cover just gives you the damn creeps.

James hit the nail on the head when he said this album is carried by her vocals.

Definitely... only thing is, due to that very fact, Christmas's projects are a love/hate thing for most. There doesn't seem to be a middle ground for her. You either love or hate her style.
