This is the first Bad Seeds album I listened to. I enjoy a lot of the songs but the album as a whole isn't as good as some others. Stagger Lee, Lovely Creature and Kindness of Strangers are my favorite tracks. Is Nick Cave unheard of or is that just me thinking so?

Hmmm, Where The Wild Roses Grow was a hit over here if my memory serves me well.

Hell yeah, love Nick Cave! Very much agreed, traptunderice, Cave is underrated and criminally unknown to most asides for this album.

This album is good and it's the one that had the most commercial success because of Where the Wild Roses Grow and Death is Not the End... but to me it's nowhere near the greatness of albums like No More Shall We Part or Let Love In. I'd say about 80/100 myself so the rating is spot on in my opinion.

Yeah, more in the UK, most likely because Kylie Minogue is bigger in Europe than she is here.

Though I've been reading the forum for quite some time, I'd never felt the urge to register... But, seeing one of my all-time favourite artist reviewed here (especially since this is a metal website) made me.

This is a nice review but I think Murder Ballads is a minor Bad Seeds' release. Still, better than 99% of the mess hitting the record stores these days...

You should give a try to Your Funeral... My Trial (1986), probably Nick's finest album

The Curse Of Millhaven is one of the funniest songs I've heard in a long time. I'd advise you all to check it out.

The only Nick Cave or VU-related thing I ever enjoyed.

I think 'Where The Wild Roses Grow' and 'Into My Arms' are the only songs of his I've heard. But I like them both, I just don't know if I would dig a whole album of that stuff, so I've never dug too deeply.

My old man loves this dude though, has a bunch of his albums. Thats another reason I've never checked him out too deeply.

This is a great album, although i have no idea what it does on a metal website.

I will second Stub.

This is a superb album but it's definitely not got anything to do with metal (even if Metallica has covered Nick Cave).

I think artists like Gotye, Jack White, Gomez. Dido, Tom Jones and Dean Martin are superb but there's no way in hell they belong on a metal website.

Nothing to do with close mindedness, just to do with context.

If "brutal as fuck" lyrics means it gets reviewed on Metal Reviews, does that mean you'll be reviewing rap acts soon? :P

Bodycount is hard rock/rap metal so fair enough. As is RATM who are reviewed is on this website.

How about some Eminem, 50 Cent, Ice T, Ice Cube, Public Enemy or Vanilla Ice?
