I'm sure many of you have seen it already but here's the live debut of their new song 'cyanide'.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UzhTe5grIoU

It's a good effort, but I'm hoping for better songs on the album. The different riff parts doesn't really flow well together, the song almost sounds like a medley. Good drumming though.

The new song definitely sounds jumbled together but still decent maybe.

I felt as if Cyanide was a strange but interesting mix of Black Album, Load/Reload and a bit of ...And Justice For All. I think it's a very good song and I can't wait to hear the studio version. If that was any indication of the upcoming album then my expectations have gone up a notch!

If it's the best song on the album, I'll be very dissapointed. If it's the worst, it'll be better than anything Metallica have done in a long while.

The live quality plays against this one. It sounds messy, but I highly doubt a studio version will sound that bad. The transitions seem a bit herky-jerky here, but they'll probably be a lot smoother on the album.

Definitely a nice mix of Load/Reload and the black album.

In Sweden they get sold out in a couple of seconds (not kidding) and you can buy tickets on e-bay-ish sites for over 200$. Insane.

It seems like Ticnet.se has some deal with these other ticket sites because they get such a large amount of tickets even though you're only allowed to buy 4 tickets per person. When I was trying to get tickets for Springsteen they sold for 700kr, and these other ticket sites sold them for 3000-4000kr. Fortunately the band added new tour dates to their tour schedule because they felt the fans were getting fucked.

Ticnet isn't the only site. The more "obscure" ones get some of the tickets too, although they're risky since you won't know if they're for real or not. Also the organizer keeps some of the tickets for "high profile" celebrities and such.

Also, how can you be stupid enough to pay 4000 kr for a Metallica concert?! Or any concert for that matter. The only I would even consider paying that kind of money for is Death if Chuck magically resurrected from the dead.

So Cyanide isn't the song they are making a video for so I'm hoping it is in the middle range of quality for the album.

Just the music track for Cyanide: http://rapidshare.com/files/136650772/M ... _2008_.mp3

Way better than anything on Shit Anger... If everything on this new album is as good or better we're heading for a nice little opus.

Better quality track. The vocals aren't good at all me thinks.

Here's another high-quality MP3 of the track. Sounds way better. I dig it. I'm sure it'll sound great on the album. Metallica hasn't been a great live band in a long time, and James has always been a weak live singer. At least ever since he started trying to "sing."

This is probably the best quality version of this new track. Its good, not great. Like someone else said, the riffs are pretty good and so is the chorus, but i also felt that the verses were kinda weak.

But, did you hear it....there was a solo.....a solo! Metallica haven't played a good solo in 10 years
