Though seeing Def Leppard on their Hysteria tour will remain my all-time favorite concert (it was my first ever), White Zombie put on the greatest show I've ever seen. And I don't think it'll be topped.

I have yet to experience any gig.

Me as well. We should break out gig virginity together, somehow.

And you live in one of the best gig spots in the country?

Yeah seriously. Sort it out, Zad.

My favourite gigs have been Opeth (BWP tour and GR tour were the best), Metallica at Leeds festival, and the Gathering.

The worst I think was Katatonia, they were really dull. Just like listening to the record just with worse sound quality.

Also didn't like the Haunted, as someone stage dived onto my head and I fell on the floor and got really sick when I stood up.

EDIT: Oh and recently I just saw Gallhammer, who were really great. One of my favourite gigs.

I thought Katatonia were pretty good when I saw them. That said, Novembre were supporting so it'd make any gig good :D

All of my gigs have been primarily with death metal bands. When I first saw Origin, I thought they were really good, but Decapitated had the best energy out of any band I've ever seen. All the musicians (including Vitek) were in top form and Covan sounded much more guttural than he did on Organic Hallucinosis. They started their set off with "Spheres of Madness" and the whole place went insane.

The craziest gig I've ever been to was this local battle of the bands gig, and a (split-up) band called Butcherpriest made me think I was going to go to jail for being in the same room. Lets just say there was mud everywhere, a chainsaw, a very large man hanging from the ceiling on fleshooks, and a topless minor dancing. Musically, they reminded me a lot of Slipknot.

I saw In Flames a week before Come Clarity was released and they had a terrific sound. They played a few unexpected tracks from Whoracle and Colony, to my delight. Could have used a bit more energy though.

Yeah, I forgot what thread I posted it in, but it was in late November of 2007. I think I posted a few pictures too (BEFORE her top fell off).

I was mistaken, there was only one picture. You'll have to scroll down a bit.

Best:

* Maiden '03 - seeing your favourite band for the first time is always special

* Bon Jovi '01 - yeah go fuck yourself, they were fantastic. My first experience of a stadium gig (only my second gig ever, actually) and we made a great day of it.

* Helloween '06 - seeing a power metal band in Scotland is always a treat, and they played a great set. Songs from every album except Walls (shame), Pink Bubble and Chamelon. and they played Keeper of the 7 Keys, King For a Thousand Years and Occasion Avenue. 3 songs totally nearly 40 minutes and they still played a lot of songs.

* Europe '04 - their reunion gig at Sweden Rock. I went in expecting a few cheap laughs at that stupid band that did that stupid Countdown song and walked away a fan for life.

* ArnoCorps '06 - Godamn ballsy heroic Arnie worship. Piss funny stage presence and banter, hilarious songs. Just awesome.

Worst:

* In Flames '06 - supporting Slayer. Everything about it was awful. The songs. The performance. The crowd ("This song's from Come Clarity" "YEEEEHWOOOROCKNROLL ANDERSI LOVE YOU!!!!!11" "Here's one from The Jester Race" "......woo....."). Everything.

* Marylin Manson '03 - disinterested performance, shitty venue, crowd that only gave a fuck about Tainted Love. Really bad. Shame as they were really good when I saw them in 2001.

* Cradle of Filth '05 - really bored looking band, poor set list, the bass player went offstage halfway through the gig and you honestly couldn't tell the difference (in a bad way).

Reminds me I also saw Korn live once at a festival... they kept fucking up as if they couldn't play their own songs and then they got pissed off about it and so obviously didn't want to be there... then there were all the technical problems... i left kind of soon.

I've seen a good amount of bands live ever since I started doing live shows when I was 15... But no one compares to In Flames, in my opinion. I've seen them 6 times in total so far and each show is amazing and full of energy. Their production is always solid and I've never caught a bad performance yet. They're always on top of their game.

My favorite In Flames show would probably be them coming fresh off Reroute to Remain and performing in Minneapolis, Minnesota at the Quest. Amazing show, and they were backed by Soilwork who were also great live.

My second favorite show would be GWAR... I'm a GWAR nut and they just have a really entertaining show. Watching them destroy Gor Gor on stage was awesome.

I've seen a bunch of other shows... Symphony X sticks out in my mind as they did that one 24 minute song as an encore ( Can't think of it off the top of my head ) And I saw Cryptopsy off ... And Then You'll Beg. Dimmu Borgir was awesome too.

Can't think of too many others that stick out in my mind. I used to go to a ton of shows but lately not a lot of great bands have been coming through since a venue that held a lot of metal shows went down years ago.
