I laugh at you for not grasping the meaning of the word fictional.

They are just acting out a band from the film on stage, like a play that is adapted from a book. Does that make the characters any more real? 'tard.

As a BAND they are not fictional, the band existed regardless of whether the members where playing characters, the music they released isn't fictional, is it?

This is Spinal Tap is a fictionalized account of real events that happened to real metal bands. The band Spinal Tap is a real band in the sense that the "actors" wrote those songs and performed them as well.

They are not a fictional band because they wrote their material and performed it. They do however have a fictional back story accompanied by a movie.

When the band toured whether or not it was a parody they were touring as a band, it wasn't fictional.
