Well, Weezer's new album is out right now. Lovingly titled "The Red Album." For those who've listened to it, any thoughts?

The new album is odd. The wierd rapping part on The greatest man in the world is odd. Overall i like it alot.

I love Weezer, but I haven't had a chance to listen to any of it yet. What's your opinion, Seinfeld?

I've heard a couple songs so far, and they're surprisingly good. Actually, Weezer hasn't sounded this much like the Blue Album since, well, "The Blue Album" (note: Pinkerton is my favorite Weezer album and also one of my favorite rock albums of the 90's).

Once I've listened to the album in its entirety, I'll post my thoughts here.

Ditto, far and away my favorite Weezer album. Let me know what you think of the new one when you hear it, I'm going to try to buy it myself soon.

I listened to the new album earlier this morning. It's surprisingly good. It's probably Weezer's most diverse album. Rivers Cuomo even RAPS in one song (The Greatest Man That Ever Lived), but don't let that turn you off. Otherwise, there are RHCP influences on songs like Everybody Get Dangerous, some obvious Blue Album leanings on Pork And Beans, a bit of a Pinkerton-like guitar riff in Troublemaker, and even a couple scattered Green Album moments now and again. It's like a sum of everything Weezer's done up to this point, with some experimental surprises thrown in. I think you'll enjoy it.

I've really had a hard time enjoying anything they've done since The Green Album. Maybe it was just growing up with that album, but I just can't get into their work since that.

I'll give this one a listen though, I am curious.
