Is this reply supposed to have any relevance outside of trying to take a childish pot-shot at me? Just curious.

I don't feel I have to defend what is my opinion... I'm not forcing onto any one but I stand by what I said about this Priest album and the general attitude I'm witnessing toward it.

Yeah, actually, its a response to your post being just another cheap shot at more or less everyone that posts on this forum and yet another attempt to set yourself up as some sort of authority on life and the universe. The sort of authority that would absolutely never cut his favourite bands some slack (coughdefleppardcough) or be more vindictive towards one he doesn't like for whatever reason.

Its actually amazing how similar you and Stefan are. Probably why you've engaged in so much shit talki...arguments over the years.

So what you're saying is that I basically point out YOUR character flaws, right? That's why you're being so snotty about it. Because I clearly didn't take a cheap shot at "more or less everyone that posts on this forum." I sure as hell did describe aspects of some people on this forum, though. But I most definitely wasn't taking a cheap shot. In fact, calling it like it is is basically the complete opposite of a cheap shot.

As for the crap about me being an authority on anything, you're just talking out of your ass. Some of you clowns think you're so cool and complex, when in fact you're just as plain and similar as countless other people out there. Most people are. I'm no different than tons of other people. But I'm also not delusional enough to act like am. That's the difference. You want so hard to be so different! But you're not, and you will never be. I don't think I'm better than anyone here, but I sure as hell am not delusional about who I am or what I do. Some of you fuckers are so disgustingly trendy it is fucking amazing that you can actually fool yourself into thinking otherwise.

And I am also very critical of Def Leppard. I've always said their last album sucked, for instance. Sort of goes against what you just said, huh?

Damn ! Have to get this thing. Hope it's in stores soon. That being said, people who take regular digs at metalheads for liking/disliking a band or album simply because they cannot resist it are no different from whom they point fingers at.

You've hit it right on the head, sister! The people here supporting the new Judas Priest album are trying so very hard to be different! Its just disgusting how trendy they are, and how they take cheap shots at you (poor dear)! But not Kenneth! No sirree bob! He calls it like it is, and if he calls us self delusional trendy douche bags, its because its the plain truth and not an insult in any way shape or form. And its only against some people! Generally the people who don't always agree with him, which is just everyone on the forum but himself. But trust me, he's not arrogant; he just knows us much better than we could ever know ourselves, and therefore he's able to deride our opinions effectively by showing that we hold them for completely biased and stupid reasons, no matter what they are. He then, in his everlasting nobility, is able to prevent anything like a discussion from ever occurring.Thank you Kenneth, thank you with all my heart!

Edit: Oh yes, and I like the new Priest album. Its a solid, if pompous effort that is overlong, but generally has some very good songwriting. I only hold this opinion because I'm a Priest fanboy and would never speak a single word against anything they've ever done.*

*Except for those albums of theirs I don't like or find mediocre.

It's not. I assume he is referring to the fact that you seem to get off on starting internet drama, sometimes using your opinions to start the flame. If that's the point noodles is making, then I fully agree with him. You have a pretty nice track record in this regard (ex: your childish and pointless "Who do you hate?" poll in Helheim that Rad mercifully locked).

Come on dude- you talk about how you don't think you're better than us and then judge us as trendy self delusional fucks, then complain that Radagast took a cheap shot at you when your posts are filled with them (though of course, you're "telling it like it is". I like you as a poster, but when you never seem to have anything to contribute to a thread but "you guys like this/don't like this because you're all trendy whores!" it does come off as extremely arrogant, and more damningly, it prevents anything like a discussion from happening, because you're too busy deriding us for being idiots. No doubt we are all influence by trends; but it'd be nice if you could stop patronizing us for two minutes and actually discuss with us why we may or may not like an album.

And now, back to Judas Priest, please. As I said before, I think Nostradamus is overlong, and that really hurts it- like most concept albums these days, it takes the Operation: Mindcrime route and stuffs the album with interludes, many of which are IMO boring (though they do manage to pull a few off, like Prophecy). I'm also not sure the concept worked too well- as expected, the lyrics are dumb, and the music doesn't necessarily match the lyrics all that well anyway, nor does it feel like the story is flowing all too well. That being said, many of the songs are quite excellent- highlights being Nostradamus, Revelations, Death and Persecution (overall, the first disc is probably stronger). Some songs could be cut (most notably Gods of War), but thats true for every single double album ever. Finally, Halford gives a great performance, and though there's less riffs and leads than I'd like, Tipton and Downing sound as great as usual.

So, I think all in all, I give it around a 77/100 or so. I'll be listening to it a few more times though before giving any final opinions.

Not once, in all my years here, have I ever said I think I'm better than anyone. Not once. I might make the "I win!" jokes, but there's nothing serious behind that. Unfortunately, some of you have taken your dislike of me to such extremes that you can never grasp the simple things behind what I say. You take everything to the extreme end of the spectrum. Just look at this thread for an example. I merely agreed with some Stefan said, and look at all the angry replies I'm getting! Why isn't Stefan being slammed, too? It's a bit silly, isn't it?

When someone can predict the responses of people, then they're following trends. It's that simple. If you take offense to things I say, I'm probably describing you. Otherwise you'd just take them as an opinion and move on. What is so hilarious about every dig some of you take at me is that you're doing the EXACT same thing you're screaming at me about. If I say white, and you say black, what's the basic difference? There is none! And let's not pretend you guys say it differently. People are more rude toward me, and throw more insults my way, than I have ever done in return!

But yes, I know, this is just another case of Ken being right. Pffft! Predictable as always. The fact remains that Stefan's statement rings true, and it transcends this forum and everyone here. You'll see it everywhere. Open your eyes for once. Instead of trying so hard to just disagree with someone, pay attention! It's right there, plain as day.

But hey, maybe you're too young (there I go with that argument again, huh?). If you are, give it a few years, you'll be saying the same things I'm saying now. Shit, Zad is now saying the same things I said three years ago! Things he cussed me out for, replying in the same exact manner you're replying.

Listened two times... overlong, pompous, but with a lot of great songs... Halford sings perfect. If it was just a single record with the best songs (Persecution, Pestilence & plage, Revelations, Death, Nostradamus, Prophecy, Visions, Exiled... basically) it will be a masterpiece. But as a double, is a good album with excesive filler interludes and mellow songs (80/100).

Christ, don't drag me into it. All I saw in this thread was people attacking people over completely off-topic nonsense. Yes, sometimes people are fanboys and like stuff and sometimes they don't. IT DEPENDS.

Now, if I could lock this topic and make you all wait until the review thread then I would, ya buncha fairies. Not heard Nostro myself yet, my Spec. Ed. hasn't arrived yet.
