No matter what, whenever somebody starts talking about thrash you always come in and say how we dont need to listen to any other thrash than what you like. So what, you dont like thrash as much as us, why do you constantly have to tell us that? We (better yet, I) get it. For the most part I have been ignoring you when it comes to comments like these, but I shall remain silent no more. Get over yourself.

Because without me, these sorts of threads go into full blow-job mode.

Well no matter what you say or do, I still like you.

UPDATE:

I just checked on Amazon. Coroner "Mental Vortex" is $11.98, then with shipping to Australia, it costs a total of $22.07.

So it's less than $6 cheaper, and then I have to wait like 2 - 3 weeks for it to get here from the USA.

Does that make the $28 I mentioned before seem any more reasonable?

Anyway, so I've got advice from ganesharules about which coroner is best..so..DevotedWalnut....advice on tankard please?

Rio said it best, get the Zombie Attack/Chemical Invasion split. Tankards finest hour(s). But really anything Tankard has released is good for a thrash fan. You cant go wrong with these guys. I love every single release.

Is the re-issue with both albums on it remastered?

I find with a lot of mid 80's debut albums that I love the songwriting, but the sound is so tinny. Remasters tend to make me a much happier buyer....

Which reminds me....did anyone else buy the Flotsam and Jetsam Doomsday for the Deceiver re-issue? The one with 3 discs. (disc 3 is a dvd) Disc 1 has the album as it originally sounded, and disc 2 has the same album remastered. And the remaster is GLORIOUS. It sounds like a brand new album. Highly recommended.

Yes, remasters are better choice, but in this case I've got it in vynil, as half of my first 80's collection.
(But I downloaded the remaster version as mp3 "backup version", and yes, it's glorious)

As a collector-by-nature, I love the idea of vinyl. But as a child-of-the-times, I need to get all my music on my iPod. So it's always CD's for me....

Hey, DevotedWalnut, off topic, do I have to do something to earn one of those unofficial thrash team banners? Hehe. Or can I just have one?

You earned yours when you joined the site.

i hope you know how to get it, 'cause I am useless when it comes to stuff like that.

So yes you can have it, you just need to do it yourself.

No Destruction or Sodom? Kreator? I don't know why, but when it comes to Thrash, I have higher regards for German thrash compared to American ones. A reason why is maybe the production. Germans especially Destruction have always remained raw, where else the Americans have polished their sounds over the years.

Just my two cents on the issue.

I forgot all about the German stuff. :omfg: I can definitely see myself snatching up some Sodom in the near-future. And Kreator. Not sure about Destruction. I haven't heard a single note by those guys.

Fuck me, I also forgot about Vio-lence (I know they're not German, but I thought they sounded great).

Slayer - South Of Heaven

This isn't thrash? What.

Honestly, with a few exceptions (Ghosts Of War and Silent Scream, for example), I think it's more of a "heavy metal" album.

Youre wrong, South of Heaven is THRASH.

My Thrash Collection

The Crown -- Possessed 13
Exodus -- Bonded By Blood
Exodus -- Tempo Of The Damned
Metallica -- Ride The Lightning
Metallica -- Master Of Puppets
Metallica -- ...And Justice For All
Nevermore -- Dreaming Neon Black
Nevermore -- Dead Heart In A Dead World
Nevermore -- Enemies Of Reality
Nevermore -- This Godless Endeavour

Now I know some people wouldn't consider The Crown or Nevermore Thrash, so taking them out of the equation...

Exodus -- Bonded By Blood
Exodus -- Tempo Of The Damned
Metallica -- Ride The Lightning
Metallica -- Master Of Puppets
Metallica -- ...And Justice For All

5 albums in total, 2 bands.

I need some more, I suppose.

Copy-paste that in its entirety into your signature field in Profile options. Enjoy your banner. Also, by its nature, any album by Slayer is in fact TRASH.

Faffel, you're worth your weight in signature banners, at least.

Thanks man.

Anyway, after all this talk I just couldn't help myself.

I ordered Tankard - Zombie Attack\Chemical Invasion, and Coroner - No More Color from Amazon.

They were temporarily out of stock, so I guess i'll just have to wait. So three more album brings the tally up to...90.

I'm gonna go for the big 1-0-0 after my next pay check!

This thread has more than enough room for my faggotry. Without me these threads turn into full Slayerjob threads.

Now, now, let's not be too hasty.

I think we can all agree we enjoy a good slayer blow-job thread.
