Actually, I like both the music (up to X&Y, I haven't heard the lastest yet) and the cover of Viva La Vida... :)

But then, being french certainly influenced me... And I love that painting of Eugène Delacroix too ! It's called "La Liberté guidant le peuple" (Liberty guiding the people)...

Man, you can't just write whatever you feel like on a work of art of such value and put it as your artwork... I second that it is indeed pretentious.

I like old Coldplay once in a while....

Sure you can't but that Viva La Vida graffiti on the Delacroix painting fits perfectly!

Do not forget it's a revolutionary painting after all...

Coldplay aren't a revolutionary band

So what?
Have you read the lyrics to the new album?
I know I haven't so I give them the benefit of the doubt...
And, anyway, that's still a cool album cover!

Who cares about the damn album cover?

You won't care what's on the damn cover when you experience a sudden brain hemorrhage from listening to the album.

FUCKING COLDPLAY.

When I listen to coldplay I WANT TO MURDER CHILDREN. I WANT TO MURDER THEM AND EAT THEIR FACES.

Figuratively speaking, of course. But it's kinda funny when you consider that metal relaxes me.

i don't mind their music but their new album cover is one of the worst and most pretentious i've seen

I actually like the new cover, it fits the music perfectly. I've listened to the whole album on their MySpace page and it quite good. A lot softer than their previous and totally epic..

I'm honestly surprised by the love coldplay is getting around here. I just assumed everyone would hate them.

My friends aren't even metalheads, none of them actually, and they all agree listening to coldplay is like having someone chemically castrate you. It may not hurt, but you're certainly less of a man when its done.

I fucking loathe them. Especially Martin's awful voice.

Indeed...
The main problem with the 3 others is that it's always the same kind of melodies minus the "freshness" of Parachutes...

I'll admit there's a couple of decent tunes on Parachutes. Shiver is pretty ok.

For some odd reason I like X& Y the most.I think it may be because it's their most constant and guitar driven album. But don't get me wrong, parachutes is great but it more of an up and down album in terms of quality in my opinion.
