You must lead a very boring life, sir.

Because I don't like Power Metal!

Not just power metal, but everything you listed as DO NOT WANT.

It isn't as boring as you might think. Death Metal and Black Metal are very rich genres they can be Melodic, Folkish , Symponic , Viking, Progressive , Avant Grade , Experimental , Thrashy , Doomy or a mixture. I only said I don't like Power Metal, Grindcore and EPIC Doom Metal and that I usually listen to Thrash, Death and Black Metal. I also listen to anything from Led Zeppelin on, Hard Rock/Heavy Metal/NWOBHM even some Metalcore, Black Dahlia Murder and Between the Buried and Me are an example of excelent Metalcore. I've got a great collection starting from 1967 to 2008. Not so boring after all!

Black Dahlia Murder is straight-up melodic death metal, man...

I don't particularly listen to much black metal. Not nearly as much as I used to anyway. Now it's mostly the folky experimental stuff like Drudkh and Negura Bunget.

Also all the subgenres of grindcore that don't involve Napalm Death, Nasum, early Carcass and all the classic bands don't do anything for me. It's the gargling vocals that put me off the most.

I only listen to black and viking, and bits of death, thrash (like Toxic Holocaust), und folk mixed into black... I don't care all that much about the other genres, they are a bit too girly for me :P in terms of music.. tihii

I don't really listen to pure black metal. It's always melodic, or doomy, or just diluted. I don't really ever listen to thrash, but that's more because I haven't found any thrash bands that blow my mind. The genre I've let pass by the most by far.

I think straight up grindcore is the only genre I really can't stand... That and NSBM but the later I refuse to listen to for political/philosophical reasons...

Some kind of Black Metal. I believe it has something to do with nationalistic or nazi stuff. If I'm not mistaken it stands for national socialist black metal or something like that but I could be wrong. I also believe that this is one of the few (if not the only) metal genre that MR doesn't review here (which is totally fine by me, I don't care for BM much anyway).

Right. That's it.

And it's true MR doesn't review NSBM. Yet, some bands that are borderline NSBM got reviewed here... Drudkh for example.

Well, let's be clear: Drudkh are not a National Socialist band. They may well be a nationalist band, but they're not an actual Nazi band. They may have had members who were in NSBM bands, but that doesn't make them an NSBM band. If being nationalist meant no MR reviews we'd be reviewing very few, not even Iced Earth or Iron Maiden.

Cue argument about how they're patriotic, not nationalistic. Y'all know what I mean. I'm not a patriot, just a hateriot!

I'm not a very big fan of death metal but oddly enough I love melodic death. Go figure.

I also have issues when any particular genre of metal becomes over saturated with bands that just don't create music as well as their predecessors who laid the foundation.

Atleast we're not reviewing the Angry Aryans, who whilst genuinely kicking ass (black ass muthafucka) are lyrically the worst most hateful thing ever. Allthough in my opinion hilarious, just out of sheer extremity.
