this album owns, its already my most played album on itunes. the only thing that makes it not as good as Kezia is the awesome acoustic parts and duets Kezia has during the second half

Maybe it's just me, but I really don't think they'll ever release a Colors.

I don't agree with the re viewer's thoughts on Rody's voice. If you've listened to Kezia you know he's improved a lot/ His tone, delivery, range have all gotten better and he truely sounds amazing on Fortress. Although I agree is voice is over the top, it's as much emo as Bruce Dickinson's or Freddie Mercury voice and the likes.

I agree with grandbazaar about Rody's voice...great singer. And yeah, this CD is pretty awesome. I don't think that the second half is quite as good as the first half, but they're not misses by any means. I'll have to get Kezia.

Also, is it just me or is Colors not standing the test of time very well? Once I got over the initial amazement at hearing extreme metal that was so progressive, it wasn't quite as good anymore...I dunno, I'll have to give it more listens.

yeah, it's amazing listening to Kezia now and how much better Rody sounds... i can see why someone would call it emo but it's a fairly small part of his vocals now.

it hasn't aged too well for me either... it sort of went on an arc where at first i didn't like it, then after 3-4 listens i started to love it... now after listening to it 15-20 times i don't think it's so great.

I dunno about you, but I still love Colors. It pretty much incarnates musical self-indulgence, and I think I'll always love it for that.

I actually liked Fortress more than Kezia - just seemed like they had evolved musically.

Great album, anyhow. I listened to this mother fucker quite a lot.

Lets not go there. Take it to Helheim, there is actually a thread dedicated to Jaden.... "Faces."

Thought I'd let you all know this is still holding up very well for me. Damn solid. I suppose I've come to love the vocal melodies more than the actual singing, hahah.

I agree with grandbazar about Rody. On Kezia he sounded good, live and on Fortress he sounds amazing. He and Arif are the most talented members of the band.

This is a fuckin talented band. Im not sure if I like this more or their previous album. They're both solid IMO.

rody walker sounds quite a bit like devin townsend on this album IMO. they both share a mix of 80s metal vocals, pretty singing, and a wide variety of growls/shrieks/roars and use them in similar ways
