I mostly listen to Black, Doom, Thrash and Heavy Metal. What I don't listen to is harder to define, as I really don't spend much time or brain capacity thinking about it and I'm not particularly focused on genre labels. Let's just say that Power Metal has to be pretty extraordinary for me to spend my precious listening time on it. No gothic stuff unless it has very heavy doom leanings and no female 'operatic' vocals (Nightwish makes me want to cut off my ears and eat/regurgitate them repeatedly just to get a change of soundscape). No Nu-Metal obviously and I also steer clear of so-called 'symphonic' Black Metal. Also I think that you have to be really conservative when adding Folk influences. The line between a nice folky touch and a gimmicky cheese fest is hair thin. Oh, and Deicide is about as 'Melo' as I can handle my Death Metal.

Hair metal!, how the fuck I forgot it! I don't listen to hair metal! I think it's not a metal subgenere. That cock rock and hair metal and all those similar stuff should be genre for itself and called GLAM! (and not as a subgenre of metal, rock or whatever).

Actually, real glam rock, from the Slade/T Rex/early Bowie/Sweet was much more interesting musically and way less "fruity"...

...

Hey, what the fuck do you know 'bout that.. we actually agree on something. Bowie... T Rex... Sweet...heady sounds from another long forgotten time, and still part of my usual repertoire. And, of course, Alice.
You know I missed you the most, TIE.

That's because they've always got their heads in the clouds.

I don't listen to power metal, the melodic vocals annoy me too much. I could never get into Grindcore, I find most epic doom metal (Reverend Bizarre) boring and I hate it when people make power metal with extreme vocals and call it melodic death metal. I usually listen to Thrash/Death/Black and sometimes Progressive Metal (Opeth and Meshuggah)

Yea, anything ending in -core, I don't listen to. I like maybe two bands in that genre, but the rest... sorry, I'm to have to say it... ALL SOUND THE SAME! Gojira is a pretty good band, though.

How is Gojira anything remotely close to -core?

Are you trying to tell me that Carnal Diafragma and Repulsion sound the same?

I forgot about female fronted metal. At the end of the day, it shouldn't be recognized as a genre because it's a joke. Even when listening to Arch Enemy you can tell it's a woman because...because...Because you need fucking balls to front a metal band. No probs with female members of course.

Sir, I know women with balls enough to compete with any born male, and men with no balls at all. One's physical form has very little to do with it.

There's not a lot I actively dislike. As has been said, anything with the 'core suffix (although with grind I feel more ambivalence than animosity), hair metal and most prog. I don't tend to listen to a lot of stoner metal or drone, but I don't really have a strong opinion one way or the other about it. I also hate operatic metal with real operatic vocals, but that's because I hate real operatic vocals (I like classical and hate opera, too).

Yeah, only a few of their songs are -core-ish, but I was just saying that the ones that are, I like.

First...well, no. A transvestite only dresses in the clothing of the opposite gender. They don't identify as the opposite gender and wouldn't dream of getting surgery or taking hormones. Drag kings use packies, of course, but it's not even close.

As for tomboys...do I have to go back to using the avatar where I look like a velociraptor in a Bloodbath t-shirt?

Death Metal + Metalcore. It usually sounds like Suffocation with lots of breakdowns.
