Trying to remember a Band name

Could you guys help me on this? Been out of the metal scene for some time now, and forgot the name of a band I used do admire, and lost it's mp3s aswel.

Its music was soft, had violins and other unusual instruments, mainly love-oriented lyrics. Similar bands are.. hum, Sentenced, HIM.

Only one I can think of (but it had female vocals) is On Thorns I lay...
