The two scroll bars are annoying but tolerable.

The fire and bones are just cheesy.

Yeah, it looks like a site for power metal, instead of metal in general.

After further examination:

++Top bar (way cool)
+Album covers on main page

-flaming skeletons on side...too bright
-2 scroll bars
-Main page a bit cluttered
-Artwork on the bottom...why not just let us access it at MetalArt?

Completelly agree. Would also like to add, please get rid of that metalartwork banner at the top. It is extremely annoying. Aside from that everything else seems ok, i'm sure we'll get used to the changes in the end...but some things need to go or need to be changed

Also it likes to start me out on the bottom of the page with the two scroll bars when I edit a post.

The forum should be kept separately from the site, meaning it's its own page and not inside of the main page. Although if you open a new tab in Firefox with a link on the forum it opens as its own thing separate from the site so it prevents the whole dual scroll bar thing.

Outside of that, looks good guys.

Looks like they got rid of the dual scrollbar, but it's not completely fixed yet...now there's a bunch of black space under the forum part. I'm assuming this will be fixed because it looks like some error in the the transition between two scroll bars and one. But still, just pointing that out...it's pretty annoying to have to scroll up every time I go from a thread to the forum.

But it's good to see that they're listening to our complaints, however whiny and bitchy they are.

Actually its a necessary evil to fix the double scroll bars, and I think its better not to scroll once the black appears than having to juggle with the double bar. Its a limitation of the wrapper used here and if I find a better one for the job I'll definitely install it, but for now I didn't and the site still has zero help coding wise, so I'm doing the best I can since I'm no php coder.

Apparently the lower art bar was creating some slow downs on some machine, so it went.

Just my 2 cents :)
Chris

PS : To avoid the double bar in reviews, its better to use the top menu to access the reviews rather than click the link on the main page, the result is much better in the first case imho.

I like the new information stylesheet on the front page, which contains more covers and gives more room for the contents of the site. Also the menu-bar works out nicely.

When it comes to the pictoral contents, I'm not impressed. The old site was pretty tacky and the new one is just as bad. The CGI-pictures are sterile (which is a general problem for pure computer graphics) and a little unpleasant to the eye. Especially the flaming-skull-warrior on the front page, which looks more like something from a vidoegame- or roleplaying game-forum than a metal forum. The graphic elements should be a little more downplayed and an effort should be made to remove the synthetic CGI-feel, that they have.

That being said, it is not a big problem for me as the graphical design is pretty unimportant for me as long as the functionality is allright.
