It's cool. But I think i'll stick with the classic design.

Spot on, the artwork bar at the bottom is the proof...

But it IS his site, so really he has the right to plug whatever he wants on it. It's not like we have that many ads on the site anyway...

Seeing how Chris spends all the money to fund and keep this site running with no help from anyone, I'm surprised how many of you have a problem with him advertising his artwork as a way to generate some income for himself. Would it bother you any less if the advertisements were not for his company? Advertisments are a part of metal webzines, get over it people.

I'm quite happy for the art to be there, but perhaps as a link at the top, just for the sake of de-cluttering. That being said, the idea of him plugging his artowrk has no beef with me.

I'm amazed that so many of you were here just for the design! I guess that explains some things.

Seriously, the reviews are still there, the interviews, the new, etc.—it's all still there. Why be so goddamned shitty with your replies? You want a website designed to your specifications? Design one! Obviously I'm not talking to everyone.

I actually like the design, but it does need some tweaks:

1. A fixed page, without a web browser scroll bar, would be better. But having two scroll bars isn't that big of an issue.

2. I think the word "metal" is used too much, but again, it's nothing to complain about.

3. The adverts are a necessary evil. They suck on every website, but unless the users start coughing up some cash, they stay. But I would try to make the banners blend with the site a bit better. That Metaltix banner is distracting because it's so ugly.

4. The artwork banner across the bottom is a wee bit too long. You should never have to scroll left or right.

5. Also, I think larger album art would be cooler. 100 x 100 is tiny.

Otherwise, good stuff.

I think the new look is cool. More metal I guess. But, the scroll within the scroll will take some getting used to. Good job. I know many feel the flaming skulls are cliche. But, I like them.

**Posting after checking it out a little more.** The scroll within the scroll is actually good. :)

Basically you're saying:

1. This sucks ass, but it's ok

2. This sucks ass, but it's ok

They're just some suggestions about some minor issues. And if you want to play semantics, he only went back on the first two points.

I approve of the new design for the most part. It seems like the double scroll bar took the brunt of the complaints, which I think is kind of funny. Unless you have arthritis, are a few extra clicks and scroll bar rotations really that bad?

As for the artwork, I think it looks pretty cool. The main page has a lot of images and is very vibrant, but it's supposed to draw you in. When you are reading a review, the page has the same familiar background, which was pretty easy to read.

We're still gong to be ejaculating quality reviews each week, it's just that our seed is now flaming. :dio:

I don't mind really, because I'm always on the classic page. Anyway, the things I hate about the new design is the scroll bars obviously. The westernish font and all the yellow. The fact that the design doesn't cover the whole page. All the new fonts by the way, and the sidebars. That's all, but I don't care about that shit, because as I said, I use the old page. Whatever.

Actually, it was more along the lines of "This new version is good, but needs some tweaks. And the idiots that whine and complain about the dumbest of things are, well, idiots. Big ones."

And, Dylan, how did I go back on the first two points?

What I meant was you suggested an improvement, but finished by saying it wasn't a big deal or "nothing to complain about." I think that makes it a little clearer...

Oh. Okay. Yeah, I suggested things that I think could make it better, but I don't quite think they're in dire need of being done. The site is functional, and people will whine for a while and get used to it.

It's still an issue, nonetheless.

Not one worth not visiting the damn site for! Nor is it an issue worth being nasty about. That's just stupid.

I was never nasty about it and I certainly did not say I would stop visiting the site.

I have no problem with him plugging his art, but not at the expense of the site. I actually like the flaming skulls, and the new look, just not the haphazard double scroll and the way elements of the old site seem to be embedded into the new site.

Although in all fairness as you pointed out we really should be thanking Chris for keeping the website alive.

Oh and I really like the way the current reviews' albums covers are displayed on the front page :dio:

So then I wasn't talking about you. Like I mentioned above, I obviously wasn't referring to everyone.
