You forgot Flogging Molly for absurd review choices. You might as well review the new Nick Cave album. My opinion on it is that as long as metal fans can find some overlap and still enjoy the band being reviewed then review it.

That's pretty much what I think. Considering when Misha was here we had minimalist piano pieces being reviewed, I don't think a bit o' rock will be too much of an abomination.

Oh, I forgot to mention last time. A band from Norway, Blood Tsunami. They have an album creatively titled 'Thrash Metal.'

Anyway, these guys REALLY kick ass.

What is so anti-metal about pearl jam? Seriously you need to go back and learn about the history of those bands if you really think they are not "closely related to metal"

It is metal regardless of its impact to Hair metal's demise, its popularity or the countless watered down shit bands that spawned from them.

It is like its cool to like AIC but gay to like PJ which is fucking stupid.

For once, I'm in agreement.

Regardless of their impact on metal, I can't stand grunge, except perhaps for Alice in Chains in small doses. It's boring and repetitive alt-rock. Nirvana is a particularly bad example, seeing as how Kurt Cobain had possibly the whiniest voice in music history.

Oh and Blood Tsunami is another band that I really can not stand. That is not old school thrash at all.

It's not like I review more than one album a week or anything...

I'm sure you haven't heard of Electrocute a Thrash band from Turkey. Their debut album (2007) is free to download on their myspace page.

http://www.myspace.com/electrocutethrash

They're pretty good!

Zad honestly, reviewing grunge is like putting your credibility on a plate and serving it up to Hitler. Bon Jovi and The Who? YES MATE. Grunge? Don't do it, it's so fucking stupid, I'm not doubting that some of the music is good, but it doesn't belong on this site.

Misha got to review that shit because it made him look far out but it was retarded. NO GRUNGE ON METAL REVIEWS.

I'd have to agree. 80s rock and classic bands like The Who seem to fit.

Pearl Jam before Morbid Tales? Before Black Metal? Before Pleasure To Kill?

Methinks Zad is deliberately trying to push me over the edge. I've suspected this for some time now, and this clinches it.
