I know that we have had threads like this in the past. But who cares.

I am sure that most people are aware of the amount of new thrash bands popping up everywhere. I want to know, who are the good ones that I should be checking out.

Some bands that come to mind for me:
Bywar
Violator
Merciless Death
Avenger of Blood
Dekapitator
Fueled by Fire
Bonded by Blood
Warbringer
Evile
Municipal Waste
Toxik Holocaust

Anything else?

Ywah they are many many new thrash bands but most of them are metalcore/neo-thrash bands or crossover thrash bands. I tried a few of them onece but i don't really care for them that much. Most of them sound the same to me anyway. I still sticking with the 80's thrash or sweedish thrash like the haunted and carnal forge.

If you are going to stick with old school thrash then check out Merciless Death and Bywar.

Mercilss Death is my favourite new old school band. Take Exodus cross them with Dark Angel and you get Merciless Death. They also have a new album coming out next month called Realm of Terror.

Bywar is the new old Destruction. Not much else to say. I love Destruction and I love Bywar.

And Stefan, I have heard of Rumpelstiltskin Grinder (I could actually go to the store down the road and buy that album), they are good just not really what I was looking for. I want new bands that play the old school sound. Don't get me wrong though I do like them, just have to be in that mood.

A lot of people do not like Merciless Death for the singing. I for one think he sounds awesome. But he has supposed to of changed his style a little on the new album. I hope not. I love these guys.

I know the guy responsible for that band. You should send those guys fan mail, I'm sure they would appreciate it.

I don't know what to think of a band when one of the members is a record company rep. BUt i've heard them and they are decent enough. I'd reccomend them.

Im pretty sure you probably heard Municipal Waste but if you havent check them out. A decent band that keeps the old traditional thrash sound. But with the new Testament album "The Formation of Damnation" coming out today, I don't see how anyone can have time to listen to any other thrash at this point. You can listen to the full album on streaming at their myspace page. It sounds f#$@ing amazing. :dio:

New testament is not fast enough for me. If i want to listen to thrash it needs to be ULTRA-fast.

I agree that New Testament is not as fast as they used to be but they didn't really lose it either(Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer) they still sound just as good as they did 20 years ago. C'mon dude, Alex Skolnick!

I will probably eventually buy the new Testament album, but Testament has always been a second rate thrash band to these ears.

And yes I have heard of Municipal Waste, I own both of their albums. They are quite good.
