I'm surprised A Sense Of Purpose hasn't been reviewed yet. It's already been out for two weeks here in the States.
Don't look at me...

I listened to the full album today, and I can say with a straight face that this is probably IF's best album since Clayman. The band sounds like they've finally hit that sound they've been striving for ever since that album. And the song writing is much tighter and more memorable than on the admittedly bland Come Clarity (go ahead and shoot me for admitting this, but I actually liked Soundtrack To Your Escape better than CC). Not to mention the fact that the songwriting on ASOP is probably the closest the band has gotten to their Jester Race days since Colony. In fact, if Anders reverted back to his standard death growl (rather than using that "death scream" he's been using since Clayman), A Sense Of Purpose would sound just like the next logical step after Colony.
I'd rate it a 90/100.
SHOOT ME AGAIN! Your post made me want to listen to St Anger.
