Since tastes change I will only comment on the types of metal that I have not been listening to for the last 2-3 years. So here we go.
I DON'T listen to:

- anything with "core" as somebody already mentioned
- Doom metal (I find it boring)
- Black metal (with a few exceptions I find most of it immature, superficial and annoying)
- Folk metal (I think I grew up out of this long long ago)
- Female-fronted metal (again with a very few exceptions, most of female singers annoy me so incredibly much my stomach turns)

That one for me too.

Yet, Power metal is so mature, deep and not annoying.

Something tells me he's only listened to Demon Burger...

Black Metal has probably the most profound bands in any metal genre. Take for example Deathspell Omega.

The remaining 1% is obviously Dragonforce right? Cause they're the heaviest metal alive!

I can't stand death metal and power metal... Because of the singing. The singers sound like they're trying too hard and it just conveys no emotion to me.

Metal sucks I like that stuff that's on tv all the time with all the hand movements , bling , hats on the wrong way and scantily clothed women with nice boobies . Just kidding except for the boobies I can't stand it. I listen to most sorts of metal some more than others but it's more like bands I don't like than styles.

Never been able to get into any black metal past the first wave. Nothing wrong with it, per se, just not for me. I dislike most core things, but I do enjoy some well done metalcore, like Shadows Fall, All That Remains and All Out War. The majority of metal bands with female singers annoy me as well.

His opinion is wrong and hypocritical.
Of course, that's just my opinion.

The only female lead metal band I've been able to get into is Arch Enemy.

Black metal and 95% of brutal death metal and grindcore. Stoner metal mostly sucks also.

So is yours of course that's just MY opinion.

I really can't say what I don't like because I never got into most of metal genres; actually to express myself more accurately I did not listen lots of different metal stuff and genres so I can say what I don't like. But until now I can say that power metal haves lyrics like kindergarten kid wrote that (mostly because while I was kindergarten age I was all into knights and shiny armors and stuff) Thats my opinion.

I forgot about female fronted metal. At the end of the day, it shouldn't be recognized as a genre because it's a joke. Even when listening to Arch Enemy you can tell it's a woman because...because...Because you need fucking balls to front a metal band. No probs with female members of course.
