Is there any type of metal that you're not a fan of?

I personally don't care for Black metal or metal ending in "-core"

not rally. There is quality to be found everywhere. You may have to listen to 100 bad albums to every 1 good one you find though. That's typical f all genres though.

not really a fan of black metal, power metal, or brutal death metal

i listen to at least 1-2 bands in each of those genres though

Yes.

I can't think of a genre that I really hate. I don't like a lot of subgenres, but I think there's at least one band in every genre that I enjoy.

That probably will sum this thread up. I generally avoid power metal, grindcore, gothic and progressive metal but in each of those genres there are bands which I would consider some of my favorites.

Since Ken brought up the drawbacks of wallowing in negativity, I'll state what I do listen to: Black, Thrash, Doom (some) and a smidgeon of Death (old Obituary, Death, etc.)

Anyway I don't like bubblegum Gothernburg and a lot of female fronted goth metal. Or overly keyboard-driven black metal.
