What is misguided about listening to a band and not liking them?

Why is there all this authoritarian opinion about metal. Only a fool would believe my opinion is the only one that matters, unless you happen to be adveser himself.

Dude, it was a joke. Calm down.

Yeah, I know it's all in good humour and all, but some people really do think others are morons because they don't like a certain band.

BLS aside, Zakk Wylde is one of these people. He really think owning any other guitar than a Gibson Les Paul makes you stupid. He really thinks Black Sabbath is the greatest band ever. Period. There is no room for discussion. That's just the way he is. It wouldn't change the way I think about his music, but he really is an ass and I can understand people hating him for it and refusing to listen to him.

Lamb of God is awful

Yeah, gotta agree with that. Haven't heard anything from them that justifies their existence.

Black Label gets the hairs on the back of my neck to stand up.

Try Burn the Priest, it's intense.

The same friend that I watched the BLS DVD with showed me the Lamb Of God DVD. I've heard a good bit from them and don't seem to like it. A friend of mine put one of their albums on an mp3 disc a few years ago and after trying to get into it, it just didn't take.

Make no mistakes peoples. If I say I don't like a band you can be assured I have heard them to a degree that I can judge their music on.

After listening to the songs on Waking the Cadaver's MySpace, I can say that they're definitely a strong contender for me. Quite possibly the worst excuse for vocals I've ever heard and the drumming sounds like Lars Ulrich on amphetamines.

System of a Down is a good contender.

SOAD's first album was pretty good though.

I pretty much agree with anyone who said Tokio Hotel as shittiest "band" and i use the term band lightly. What a bunch of whiny emo fucktards. and their singer is having a major identity crisis. Boy or girl....gee i can't fucking deicide!!

Sorry, had to get that off my chest.

Listening to Beastie Boys is like that scene in Empire Strikes Back when they are torturing Chewbacca.

Also, listening to a Coldplay song is like eating a full packet of Sao biscuits (a very dry, boring Australian biscuit) without a glass of water.

Jared Leto's band have jumped to the top of my list after seeing a music video of theirs the other day. It's like the shittiest aryan black metal band you can think of... playing emo.

Haha! You mean 30 Seconds to Mars? Yeah, they suck big time. Don't worry, I'm sure they'll slip into a mascara-induced coma soon enough.

You know who else bathes in the shittiest of shit? Hinder. I swear if I hear that fucking Lips of an Angel song one more time I'm going to have a Michael Douglas in Falling Down episode.

Just watch American Psycho where his character takes an ax to the face. It'll make everything better.

I hate to bring this up, I really do. I don't want a fight. Really.

But here goes...

I saw In Flames in 2006 (supporting Slayer on one of their "evil" package tours) and was nearly in tears by the time they left the stage. Never have I stood through something so false, so utterly wretched in my time as a metal fan. I've seen some crappy support acts in my time, but to see this crew of tossers that have somehow held onto this reputation of being "legendary" drag through their latest cycle of tend-riding was nearly too much for me. The massacre they performed of the lone song from Jester Race was the lowest blow.

There, I've said it, I can't unsay it.

I concur. LoG comes in second for me out of respected metal bands.

I'm going to stay out of that impending war. Anyway, though, I think Waking the Cadaver are close for the worst band I've heard. I saw someone wearing a hoodie of theirs today, so I guess they have fans, but I can't for the life of me tell why. Lets see...in general I don't like the vocal style of a lot of pop/rock/emobutnotreally/punkbutnotreally bands, but that more amounts to annoyance than anything else. Also, I've never heard Bring Me the Horizon, but I did read a Terrorizer interview with them where they said that they didn't really think that Napalm Death was grindcore, so I'll say I don't like them based on that alone. That's fair, right?
