Besides that, it's fuckin hypocritical. They condemn any form of sexual acts (among unmarried Muslims) including accusing rape victims of being the reason they got raped (scantily clad etc). But what do you get in the lifestyle section? Muslim women posing seductively in ass tight outfits and shitloads of sexual enhancement drugs advertisements. One of the most hilarious ads I came across was an ad for a Tongkat Ali coffee (Tongkat Ali is a herb used to enhance the male's sexual performance). It had a picture of a scantily clad YOUNG woman striking a seductive pose, a 70 year old man holding a cup of coffee, smiling gleefully and the tagline read "Bolehlah, bang, malam ini....(Darling we can do it tonight)". How pathetic is that?
Oh by the way, it was this particular daily along with another tabloid mag that spread rumours about metal being satanic and harmful to youngsters, especially Muslim youths. Thanks to them, our gigs are oftenly raided by the cops and state religious departments and also influencing the government to ban Mayhem from performing here in early 2006. Consequently, Destruction canceled their show here after learning about the ban.
Apart from that, this daily is famous for having controversial issues on their front page, like reports on paranormal activities (ghosts, djins vampires etc) and very creative headlines about accidents. One read "Kemalangan jalan raya di Ampang, kepala ibu pecah dua (Road accident at Ampang, mother's head split in two)".
Sounds more of a Daily Mail than a Metro. We have lots of those, they're called the gutter press.
