As much as I love to support my local indie rental store, there's simply too much that they haven't got. Noticing that Amazon seem to do a pretty good deal (£8.49 a month for unlimited rentals, 1 at a time, which is far cheaper than I'm paying atm) I thought I'd try it out. Anyone here use it?

I'd go Netflix if you have the choice.

Otherwise I'm sure Amazon is comparable. Just never used the service. Netflix was off the chain and had everything my heart could desire. From strange, sick and twisted asian films to the B-est of the B movies.

Netlflix you have to download them though, right? Wouldn't work for me...

Not here. I think you can have three DVDs at any given time. You just order them and they ship them to you with prepaid envelopes to ship back when you're done.

My friend Jill uses Netflix and she seems to really like it. Not sure if it's available in the UK, though.

+1

I just stopped my service because we're trying to shave expenses for a little bit, but I was getting 1 rental at a time for $9.99/month. The best part, though, was that I could bring the mailed rentals back to the store and exchange them for free in-store rentals. At first, that feature was unlimited also, but then the greedy bastards limited it to twice a month, and $1.50 discount for every one thereafter. Still a pretty good deal though.

Well, so far the Amazon service is working great! Had two films from them so far, both worked fine, and I'm still in my free trial period! I also get gift vouchers for introducing people, so expect emails, Brits!
