Anyone here know of Serenity?

Well, if not listen to this stuff. They are little known outside of Austria, but their debut album (IMO) blows some decade-old vets out of the water. They are a serious powerhouse for such a young band, and even young associations between members.

There music is very melodic with a good bit of piano keys, but there are still heavy riffs here and there. The drums are EXTREMELY technical, and the lead vocalist has a high pitch with a great range. Just overall they are great.

Give it a listen.

It will not dissapoint.

EDIT: They don't have much to sample on their Myspace, but that's what happens when you only have one album released. Lol they'd have half the album for free if they filled up the player with 4 full length songs.

Yeah, they have a bunch of stuff on Pandora. I just need to break down and get the album. It is awesome. The lead singer sounds like Tony Kakko to the T. They aren't that technical, but they are progressive in a pagan's mind/circus Maximus sense. Good stuff.

Yep. Outstanding band! You'll love it, dude! I'm surprised you haven't picked this one up yet, actually.

This is great stuff, one of the best albums of 2007.

I never heard of them before untill I visited a Kamelot concert, they were one of the opening acts for that evening. They played amazing and the sound was crystal clear, even better than Kamelot. After the show I bought the debut at the fanstand, all the members were there to sign the booklets.

They are already recording the second album 'The Fallen Sanctuary'.

Yea I can't wait for it. I've run through their debut album about 40 times, and I'm so ready for new stuff.

I love this band. I listened to the promo for about the first 3 seconds of "reduced to nothingness" and knew I had to have this album. It is kinda hard to replace promo albums with retail versions, but I definitely will in this case.

I gave this album a 9.00. It's all time ranking is #36 best album I've ever heard. That is pretty good.
