I guess if i had to choose a length I'd say 6 minutes. Long enough to epic, but short enough to stay exciting.

Just about 5 minutes is my ideal.

Song has to really kick incredible ass for me to listen to it over and over and over if it's 6 minutes plus. (short attention span).

Don't like long songs usually (they bore me). I'm always flipping around when I listen to music.

Notable Exceptions: Power of One (Sonata Arctica), Highlander (Lost Horizon), Halloween (Helloween), 2112 (RUSH). Or any of the epic Maiden songs.

Generally around the 5 minutes mark is great. My attention span seems to go down as the song gets longer, especially the tedious repetitive long for nothing songs. Ones that shift tempos, vary the riffs usually keep my attention.
