Absolute AC/DC worship, but who cares! This album is so damn good. I'm a little annoyed that I bought the Aussie version and a year later Roadrunner's version has a different last track ("Hellfire" instead of "Let's Ride"), but I should have known better with Roadrunner.

Either way, this album has been on steady rotation for nearly a year—or more—now. It's just a badass rock album.

x2 I listened to some sound clips and I was shocked to hear how good this band sounds.

I also here a little bit of Kix as well so to me it has a bit of AC/DC and Kix attitude.

I realize time will date this post but it's a funny coincidence: I visited the Sweden Rock Festival website and saw that these guys were just now confirmed to play there, so I went here looking for reviews and here it was :D

And it also got quoted by Danny himself! Now that's a rare sight, good to see him still visiting the site from time to time.

I heard this band on the radio months ago (Too Much, Too Young, Too Fast) and i never found out who it was. That song kicks major ass and i tried for ages trying to work out who this band was.

I log into metalreviews today and what do ya know, here they are and they are called Airbourne!

Things just happen for a reason....

They all kick ass, but my favorite is "Girls In Black."

They're playing here in Boston in March with Endeverafter and Stone Rider. The show is going to kick ass! Both those bands are killer, even if Endeverafter pulls in a few too many modern influence for my tastes.

Should be a great show, though!

Yes, just noticed that. At the Middle East. I'm going to try to catch them.

I just listened to all of the songs that they have posted over on their MySpace and I know this is going to sound rather critical but.....why not just listen to AC/DC? I guess if you go into listening to Airbourne knowing that they're an AC/DC ripoff ( and you're comfortable with that) then you know what you're getting. I just don't know why anyone would lend these guys a ounce of credibility. Kix always sounded incredibly influenced by AC/DC but they never sounded quite as cloned as Airbourne does.

Don't get me wrong, they do the AC/DC thing very well. I just don't understand the appeal.

It's good music. Why not listen to it? It's not like they're the first great band to sound like AC/DC (Rhino Bucket, X-Sinner, to name just two).

Aside from the fact that they have a big AC/DC sound, they're not identical clones. They generally play a bit faster than AC/DC, and there's no blues influence, which is heavy in AC/DC. But none of that matters, really. These songs you might be able to imagine AC/DC playing, but they don't sound like any AC/DC songs. They didn't still riffs. But most important out of all this: the band wrote an awesome album! It's about the songs, the music, not whether or not the band sounds like another band.

And if AC/DC put this album out you'd have squirted a chocodile into your granny panties from excitement. So why not just enjoy the album?

So by your logic people who listen to say Blind Guardian and Gamma Ray should just listen to Helloween considering that those 2 bands are greatly influenced by Helloween.

Airbourne maybe AC/DC influenced but they don't sound 100% like them at all.

Go look at bands these days metal or rock how many are out that have some influence from some big band like say AC/DC,Iron Maiden, etc big deal I say enjoy the album for what it is and that it's a solid piece of music.

Well, first, AC/DC hasn't put out anything in years now. And when and if they do, it likely won't have this much of energy. So, one way to look at this , is a good fix in lieu of anything from the boys. Next, assuming you like AC/DC, think of it as a fresh shot of energy into the AC/DC sound. This cd has actually breathed new life and renewed interest in AC/DC for me -- a band that was always my favorite, but who I have mostly stopped listening to for years.

If you don't like AC/DC, then this may not be the band for you anyway.

And while I do think this is about as influenced by AC/DC as it possibly could be, I still say, if it sounds good to your ears - be it Kix, or Airbourne, or Back in Black (AC/DC cover band), just enjoy.

Ken, write this down because I'm admitting that we agree on something. I don't dispute if it's good music or not. Like I said they perform their stuff well. If AC/DC had released it I would like it, you're right again. But, that would be because AC/DC released it because it's AC/DC's signature sound. I realize you guys like it and that's fine. I just hear a cheap AC/DC knock-off when I listen to it. They've cloned the production and guitar tones perfectly. The only thing really saving them from total ridiculousness from my point of view is that the singer doesn't sound like Bon Scott or Brian Johnson.

I take no issue with being influenced by another band. I do take issue when a band so blatantly clones themselves after another band and passes it off as original. I never really felt that BG or GR were direct clones of Helloween. I never listened to a BG/GR album and thought that Helloween could have released it. That's what I mean, I could directly hear the influence of Helloween in their music but BG and GR didn't reproduce Helloween's guitar tones and production. BG and GR created their own niche. I feel that Airbourne hasn't created their own musical identity.

If you guys like them and enjoy them that's fine. I'm not taking issue with anyone enjoying Airbourne. My criticisms are strictly my own and aimed at the band.

That's where you're wrong. This guys do not hide or deny their influences.

Absolutely.......I read an interview with their lead singer/guitarist and he is flattered by anyone who mentions the AC/DC influences. Not only do they NOT deny it, they are quite open about it.
