Well I only listened to about half of the CD today while driving. I found it to be just as good as TNR. It's really great heavy dark material. They serve it up better than anyone else IMO. Novembers Doom is in a league of their own. :dio:

Zad, do you really consider BLS to be Doom, Gothic or Dark metal?

Just bought Candlemass - Doomicus Epicus Metallicus.

"Sludgey Southern Metal" no? Sludge = Doom in my book.

Well, they're a bit heavy to be Rock imo, and the powermetallers would only moan if I stuck it in there, so...

Burning Witch - Crippled Lucifer

Is it just me, or does the vocalist sound a lot like Alan Dubin?

Mournful Congregation - The Monad Of Creation

One of the best Funeral Doom albums EVER in my opinion. Has anybody that's heard it care to make a comment?

Paradise Lost - In Requiem
Reverend Bizarre - Harbinger Of Metal

In love with the Rev Biz from the artwork alone. Can't believe this is my first album from them...

First you've heard or first you've purchased?

Harbinger of Metal has got to be the longest "EP" in metal history, but it's fucking awesome. The Dunkelheit cover track was a nice addition too.

As for my recent purchases:

Minsk - The Ritual Fires of Abandonment
Crowbar - Time Heals Nothing
Goatsnake - Trampled Under Hoof

Nah, first purchased, I've actually heard the Dunkelheit cover and a few other tracks, just never seemed to get my hands on an album (or ep, forgot this wasn't one). I love the Christina Ricci fixation and the childish centrepiece artwork...
