...where did you get the impression that hockey is popular in the U.S.?

Anywho, i know Progressive Nation (Dream Theater, Between the Buried and Me, Opeth) is touring but I dunno if it's going to NC or if it'll coincide with your trip. But, it's worthing checking into as it's a fvcking awesome tour line-up...

In Canada hockey is nutsly popular. If you don't like hockey here, you're a fag. Well in my little town anyway.

Hockey is popular in the US, but not like football is, and not like hockey is here. Personally, I can take it or leave it.

Progressive Nation won't visit NC.

WASP played here a few days ago but I missed it. Football season is over, sois the baseball season. No NBA team here in this area, but i will be watching some University basket-games which is top notch compared to norwegian basket. Will see Hurricanes-Capitals next weekend.

I guess hockey is kind of popular here, but nowhere near Canada's level of popularity. Whenever I hear people talking about it, it's like "...you're talking about hockey?". It definitely takes a back seat to baseball, basketball, football, and even stuff like golf and tennis in terms of popularity.

I actually saw an ice hockey game here in the UK recently, which is wierd. Nottingham Panthers 6, Sheffield Steelers 1. It was fun, although the advertising pissed me off, and the fact that I was expected to dance whenever Nottingham scored. Dance to crappy music, to boot.

The Hurricans don't lead the Eastern conference. They havn't all season. Right now it's a tie between Ottawa and Montreal. Douchebag teams.

Also, I go to North Carolina all the time. My dad actually just got back tonight.

Oh and Go Caps Go. Ovechkin rules.

Maybe he was referring to the Southeast Division, aka Division of Shit, they do lead that. If the Hawks played in that abomination of a division, they would be right near the top.

Indeed. If the Hawks don't make the playoffs (which is looking likely...again), that's who I'll be rooting for.

Hey man you get to see Alex Ovechkin play. he's number 8 for Washington. He is probably one of the best, if not the best, players in the NHL. Leads the league in goals, second in the league with overall points. Hopefully for you he has a good game. But pretty much every game for him is a good game. Also, he would look very nice in a Leafs jersey, too bad the caps locked him up long term and I mean real long term.
