Is anyone else waiting for this album patiently (or impatiently)?
I know their previous album has been out awhile but I still give it a spin every other week or so.
Lets just hope its not gonna take too much longer!

It'll probably get delayed. Again.

I try not to think about it, because if I do I just get angry.

I'm interested to hear how far Jari is going to take his technical progressive bombastic epic power melodeath thing. Hopefully not too far, I'd hate the songs to lose cohesiveness. Jari had the balance of brilliant musicianship and memorable songs just right on the first album.

Yes, i agree...I will be happy as long as he continues in this style.

As long as it's epic!! :dio:

I've still not got the debut. Should pick that up at some point...

Did everyone like the track Jari sung on on the Nuclear Blast All Stars project?

This band is good but really overrated. I mean the s/t never amazed me or anything... Still interested in seeing what the second one will turn out to be.

I've been waiting ever since it was first announced ages ago.

Love these guys... And I wouldn't say they're overrated. I think they deserve it myself. :: shrug ::

Wintersun never did it for me. The moment I heard one of their songs, I thought it was Children Of Bodom playing.

Then obviously you didn't listen very closely. Superficially, yes, they are similar. They have similar production and both are in the neoclassical power/melodeath sphere that Bodom pioneered. But the similarity stops there, Bodom have never been so epic, they have none of the folk influences or ambience .

yeah, my first impression was that they sound like CoB but after like 30 seconds i realized their similarities are pretty shallow

That's because your perception is also, Shallow!

It's too bad Jari left Ensiferum, though. I would really love if he could do, you know, both projects at the same time. Petri is okay, but he's no Jari Mäenpää.

The first album was nothing gigantic, but it was good. Lets see how the second one turns out.

How does one draw comparison to Bodom?

Just curious. I didn't get that impression at all myself.

Probably the melodic speed metal with blackened vocals. That's where similarities end though.

I wonder which song you heard...becoz definitely none of the songs on the album sound much like CoB. Maybe you should give it another shot?
