Yeah yeah me too but seriously listen to it. It's rather nice. Thrashy, and fast. Devil to the Metal. Maybe I will listen to the new album after all. I didn't even bother listening to their last album.

I kind of wish I hadn't shelled out on the original Thornography JUST THE OTHER DAY when they've got a Special Edition.

Thornography itself hasn't quite clicked yet, planning on a review for it in a week or two...

I don't hate them, but everything since Damnation and a Day has been rather pedestrian. There's just something missing.

Now Damnation and a Day was a kickass album, no matter what anyone says.

Coming off of the stellar Midian, it was a dissapointment. DaaD in no way compares to that album, and it certainly pales in comparison to Principle of Evil.

Meh, it depends on mood, really. The songs on DaaD were a bit simpler, but I like them. Cradle change their sound much more than people think...

What do you two think of Cruelty and the Beast? Only one listen so far, and it didn't grab me at all...

I liked Cruelty and the Beast, but Dusk and Her Embrace was better. Since it's a concept album you have to listen to the whole thing in one sitting to really appreciate it. I can't argue the fact that they were trying to get noticed by bigger labels with it, though. The 2-disc version is the one to get, since their covers of Halloweed be thy Name and Sodomy and Lust are better than anything that appears on the album proper.

Well, I didn't have Nymphetamine yet, so thought I might as well go for the Spec. Ed. Bloody annoying about the Thorno, though.

Someone once said my screaming vokills sounded like Monsieur Filth. He meant it as a compliment.

That is probably the worst his vocals have ever sounded.

I've been a fan of CoF for about 8 years now... Their material is usually good as of late, but not great. Seems to be the case with this new song.

I do like how it's a bit heavier ( At least the song is ), Thonography seemed like they may be veering in a different direction.

I'll probably get it regardless. It's CoF. They're usually entertaining enough.

It does a good mix of goth and death metal, I like it. There are some terrible and some great songs on it as it is usual with CoF.

Principle and Vempire are awesome. Midian, I didn't care much about except for the Lovecraftian feeling it gives (and is supposed to give).

I didn't mind Nymphetamine, i actually thought Cradle toning it down a bit was a good idea. The songs I heard from Thornography were sucky. The song where Dani attempts (and phailz so hard) at clean vocals was horrific. It was an example of the toning down on Nymphetamine going to far. They've long since given up any pretense (to themselves, that is) of being a proper extreme metal band. Keyboards are out and guitar solos are in!

Damnation and a Day was their best. Fucking huge, symphonic, bombastic, epic, awesome. :dio:

This new song ain't that bad at all. It's a big relief coming from Thornography, a big portion of which was a shit sandwich.

I like "Devil To The Metal". I've been a fan since about 1997. I've enjoyed every direction they've gone in. Change is good. I'll be getting the new and improved Thornography...no doubt!!

Dani is definitely an acquired taste. It's seems you either love him or hate him. No harm though. I'm glad that you liked the song musically.

I feel that Dani's vocal ability has progressively degenerated. He just can't do what he did on DAHE , CATB, and Midian. Plus, COF lost both of their mainstay guitarist by the end of that 3 Cd span. I like Paul as a guitarist but I don't feel that he has the creativity of the prior two players.
