What's your opinion?

I've heard it's crap. I might check it out anyways, for old times' sakes, but I doubt she'll beat Nightwish's latest.

Tarja's new CD is what I expected from her really. I certainly was not expecting her to attempt Nightwish part 2. She can sing some really diverse material and she has exactly that on My Winter Storm. I will say that the cover of Alice Cooper's Poison is a musical abomination and she should not have recorded it. The rest of the CD is really great.

She changed the feel of the song completely, ruined it, the chords are all wrong, and it's boring as hell. She can't even sing as well as Cooper!

Did you just say that Alice Cooper has a better voice? The cover is complete shit, though.

Cooper definitely has a better feel of singing, even if his technique isn nowhere near Tarja. He still understands the idea of rock singing better than she does.

Tarja has the most annoying vibrato I've ever heard. She should've just stuck with Opera.

I guess I'm alone in enjoying this album. At least in my top 15 of this year.

Not at all Silent Man. I love the CD except for the Alice Cooper cover. I love Tarja's voice. There was no way that I would not have bought this CD. By the way, which version do you have? Mine has 21 tracks ( 3 versions of I Walk Alone).

My bad, I missed when you mentioned you thought it was really great.

Havent bought it yet. Im gonna get it after christmas. I plan on getting the better version with a boxish cover over the jewel case, even though I'm not sure what it entails as a bonus to cost 5 bucks more. Anyways I've listened to it fully about 4 time now though and I love it. I even enjoy the Alice Cooper cover, I find it catchy. Though Ive never heard the original.

I honestly wasn't expecting much here. I was surprised though. Lost Northern Star, The Reign, Our Great Divide, and Sing For Me are my favorites so far.

Yep, I've gotten over the entire Nightwish dismissal nonsense. This CD has a great deal of musical diversity. It was a refreshing change of pace for me.

Her version of Poison is one of the worst covers I've ever heard. Rigft up there with that Atreyu/Bon Jovi one.

Yeah, the "Poison" cover is truly awful, but I actually like most of the remainder of the CD.
My full review will published on Metal CD Ratings January 25th.

This way I won't get emails... "Are you going to review the new Tarja?" or "When is the new Tarja going to be reviewed?".

The review is now online....

Tarja has released the video for "Die Alive". I really like the aesthetics of the video overall. The dogs are out of place but the rest looks great, just as she does.

She sounds incredible.
