What about the latest Primordial? Avant guard?
New Amorphis in deathmetal? or rock? :P
Rotting Christ?

So? What does the jury say?

.:crast:.

Sorry, must've missed your question earlier. Here you go:

Primordial --> Avant-Garde/Other
Amorphis --> Death Metal (that's a tough one, if no one else has already voted for it anywhere, you can put it in Avant-Garde/Other if you like)
Rotting Christ --> Doom/Gothic/Dark

Oh, and ftr, go ahead and put N.I.L. in Black, since most people will associate with that because of Imperial.

I sent you the message. Moonspell is dark/gothic metal, and Sigh is avant-garde. They both have elements of black, but that doesn't make them black metal.

moonspell normally is dark/gothic but under satanae is pure black metal

I beg to differ.I'm having a great deal of trouble deciding which cd's wowed me the most this year.Granted yeah,it wasn't perfect,but I can't complain either,and 08' is gonna be just as gnarly if not moreso with Hate Eternal(Sean from Dim Mak is now second guitarist, :omfg: more solos!!!)Decrepit Birth,Arsis etc.

I haven't gotten my hands on the complete CD yet, but
I'm expecting it before the year is over. The songs I've heard
very much follow suit from their previous works. Sounds pretty
damn good to me, however, I have a hard time placing it in my
black metal list together with bands such as DsO and Mayhem,
even though WoY have been considered a BM band once.

I haven't heard the new one yet, so I can't speak to it, but the last one was black metal in my opinion. Just put it there I guess.

Ithyphallic was a huge disappointment for me after the awesomeness of Annihilation. Their first truly poor album...

I don't consider the new Nile album to be poor, just not what it could of been.

That's fine. I consider it Avant-Garde Black Metal.

I didn´t notice anyone voting Amorphis anywhere so I put them to deathmetal. It´s funny how they are hard to classify here. Last time we put their Eclipse album to gothic/dark and now the question seemed to be death or avantgarde even though Silent Waters has much more dark/gothic feel than Eclipse.

:P

@Raven's Seediq Bale choice: It was released in the US in 2006 but in Europe in 2007. Can it be voted for? Either way it is an incredible album.

Also where does Primordial go?

I'm sorry if there's any confusion over the Chthonic choice. The CD I have is dated 2007 on the back. I'll be happy to change it up if I have to. :wink:

Meh. It's their first album to lack those special moments that made the others all great. The majority of songs on Ithy are plain boring, and even the odd horns thrown in seem a bit too calculated.
