So how did this recommendation thread work out for you guys/gals?
Have any bands been shockingly great?

MetalNESS, besides Shadows of Steel, Odyssea and Secret Sphere, have you gotten into others?

Thanks! Just curious...

This topic made my buy Dragonhammer, Time for Expiation
I was looking for a cd to complete my order and then I bumped into this topic. Did a little research on the band and heard some samples, great music.

Time Machine - my favorite band out of italy, but they are not power metal.

Secret Sphere - amazing band, their first 2 albums are the best imo.

Arachnes - also love this one. They are really strong on the instrumental parts, singer Enzo is not the best out there.

Awesome! Yeah, that's an excellent CD. :D
You would probably like the latest Dark Horizon too. Here's my review:

Shining Fury is great stuff. I can't reccomend Vision Divine Enough.

Hi Clint, I noticed that you didn't mention Steel Seal... still in this site there is a very good review of By the Power of Thunder by Jeff (86/100, Surprise of the month). Do you think that they too are not in the style of the rest of the bands on the list?

The main problem with italophone bands is the accent. Urgh.

Well, at least Steel Seal haven't this problem, since they have DC Cooper to sing on their album... :)

Correct, I don't think they fit in with the rest of the group. They're Quite different from your typical Italian power metal band.
Also, I think this topic was started before I received the Steel Seal CD... I'm not positive though.

Yes, I agree, more than playing typical power metal Steel Seal try to merge "traditional" hard rock with contemporary neoclassical power... with a nice result, in my opinion! :)

Add Mind Key, dream theater inspired band id say, but better vocals.

Hi guys, the new Steel Seal album "Redemption Denied" is out, they have now Thomas Vikstrom behind the microphone. Did anyone listen to the complete album? I found a couple of songs on Youtube and they sound very good to me:
