This is probably the "hottest" band in the Christian metal community. Should be interesting seeing what everybody else (at least here at Metalreviews) thinks of them.

I have to vote "Miss." They aren't the worst band I've ever listened to, but they certainly aren't very good either. As I pointed out before, the way they mix "heavy" verses and Christian Rock choruses just doesn't work IMO (it makes the heavy verses sound very forced - like they're thrown in just for the sake of having something "aggressive"). And the music just has this whiny/desperate sound to it that annoys me. I don't like Metalcore much, period. And this is no exception.

Sorry fans, but I'll musically take Nile and Testament over DH any day. Thank you very much.

They are a Christian metal band? Didn't know that. I have listened to just one track of theirs, Infected. Didn't like it much.

The whole time listening to it, it just seemed forced and was basically another metalcore band I'll never want to listen to again.

Demon Hunter is a hit for me. I have all their albums. Yes they are metalcore, but I always considered them to be a more melodic and heavier christian version of Slipknot. and they are way better too. They progress and get better with each release. The new one "Storm the Gates of Hell" is good, but not as good as the last one "The Triptych" This what Metalcore should sound like. It's extremly melodic and heavy. Its not death metal heavy. It's Hatebreed heavy, though there are some flashes of death in there once in a while. But its better than most core bands. I recomend that you start with Summer of Darkness, then get the Triptych, then the Self-Titled, then the new one.

Summer Of Darkness is a great album. :O

Can't say I'm too crazy about getting more, though.

And not Metalcore, btw. Nu Metal's more like it.

Slipknot isn't metalcore.

I used to like them, but they are rather generic. And to be perfectly honest, I’d rather not have my music preaching the word of Jesus to me.

People always cite the After Forever lyrics. I've always figured it was kind of like Sleep, where they smoked so much weed it made them born-again Christians.

Now, now, he does have a point. It's weird to see Death Metal bands going "RAAAAAAAH Jesus I love you for you have saved me from my sins I repent and will be a good boy RAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!"

Is it not? o.o

Nigger-wannabe + metal = long time ago, in a galaxy far away
The evil empire was building a force, destroying all in its way
Lord Vader, he's the man in black
Helmet of steel helps him to breathe, and with Jedi force he attack

The death star is near
But the rebels have no fear
The dark side of the force
They'll never join

Star Wars, the rebel fleet is on the way
Star Wars, they have come to save the day, Star wars

A new hope is here, and he's gonna save us all
He is so young but his force is so strong, Luke Skywalker is his name
Our freedom, he's gonna bring back
He has come to lead us into the light, it's time to stand up and fight

He flies among the stars
With the speed of light he goes
The dark side of the force
He'll never join

Yoda my master
Teach me how to fight
The evil Lord Vader
Is dying here to night

Star Wars
We fight for freedom
We fight for glory
We fight for all

You + Not Zad = Entirely unfunny.

Seriously, though, you called me out as soon as I came back, so I can't help but bust your balls, but your comment was retarded and you know it. You claim to like Helloween, right? If you suggest they're not Christian, or don't have a ton of Christian themes running through their songs, you're most definitely retarded.

The Dark Ride, in particular, had a lot of Christian songs (We Damn The Night being possibly the most blatantly Christian song I've ever heard by a "secular" metal band next to Lavdate Dominum off Better Than Raw). Blind Guardian's another band with Christian themes in their music (although Hansi is, I think, the only Christian in the group). Ditto to Soulfly, Nightwish and Savatage.

I think metal FANS are probably more anti-Christian than actual metal bands.

One of the bandmembers (don't remember who) was a devout Christian, so he was the guy that wrote the song's lyrics. I don't think Black Sabbath ever really intended to have an "evil" image. Their obtaining it was sort of by accident, really.
