you know "the new american gospel" :?: you liked it :?: you want more of it :?: here's for you !!!

so nothing new on Lamb Of God's new album ? more metal, less core, you metalheads are gonna be so pleeeeaaased !

myself, i miss a bit of the old Lamb Of God... the production is way too polished, the guitars are too catchy for this kind of music too...

all in all not a bad effort but not up to "New American Gospel" so if you're thinking of trying LOG for the first time check out tje old one !

82/100

I agree; New American Gospel is huge, tons of killer riffs, the best vocal performance by Randy Blythe and excellent drum work; not to mention that it has such a fresh sound, I think it has one of the most fitting productions on a Metal album, I just love how the drums sound on that album; I think Steve Austin did an excellent job producing it.

I can't listen to Lamb Of God. The vocals are awful.

If the vocals were better they'd be amazing. Even inspite of the vocals, they're still a good band, the drumming kicks ass.

Taste, taste. I think the vocals kick ass.

Just like the CD.

However... NAG's vocals were rather... boring as fuck. I couldn't tell what he was saying, even with the lyric sheet. Sure, they were impassioned, but for this music, I prefer to know what the man is saying.

well, i think Slayer is an awful band :P (even worse live) but i cannot see the comparison to LoG either...

if I had to name names for LoG style, i'd say old In Flames, a bit of american 80's thrash (think Forbidden or Hades) and a bit of hard core (it grooves and it screams too)

but Slayer ? LoG kicks Slayer's ass big time ! (but that's only my opinion)

Laid to Rest? That song kicks ass, really. Not close to boring.

Why are there seemingly no LoG fans around here? There's a REASON they got signed to a major label, and it's NOT because they have mainstream appeal. It's because they fucking rock.

Btw , i can't understand why you say that Slayer suck live because it's actually one of the best live band i have ever seen (and i have seen a lot of them)

I know that's it's your opinion and i respect that but i had to disagree with it :) .

hey you have every right to disagree with me... :D

I've seen slayer three times and i always thought their performances stank... maybe i saw three bad Slayer performances but I kinda doubt it  it's true I've never been a Slayer amateur though i possess "south of heaven" & "seasons in the abyss", some songs are really cool but, all in all, these are not great albums for me, sorry...

but i liked you're tone so i'll say "let's agree to disagree"

Cheers ! 8)

Contrary to what I expected to happen, I actually love this album. Then again, it is the only Lamb of God album I've listened to all the way through.

What I've Become sounds like a Slayer intro.

Slayer kicks their ass though, seeing how slayer is like top 5 all time on my list.

LoG is good though, if they had a better vocalist they'd be amazing, but their still really good with this guy though.

LoG would be great with a different vocalist. Blythe SUCKS. He might be the nicest guy in the world but his vocals ruin their music. It sounds like they've got a lot going on but he's just too burdensome to tolerate.

Slayer is one of the best live metal bands ever.

With about half the intensity. The only BLAH song on that record. Sounds like they wrote it in six to seven minutes.

Agreed. Slayer kills nearly everyone when it comes to... well... almost anything. And basically kicking ass. Metric tons of it.

In order to understand how talented this guy is, you have to see him live. He knows how to work the crowd like almost nobody I've ever seen. He's so fuckin charismatic, it's nearly ridiculous.

Besides, if you catch one of the shows on the LoG tour, you'll also be catching the last you'll see of Bodom for a while, and some Fear Factory on the side.

Win-win-win-lose situation, when you factor in Throwdown.

EDIT- Jay, Blythe doesn't suck, no matter which way you paint it. He sounds fucking angry, he's got a powerful growl, he can vary the pitch well... he's not THAT BAD.

Don't understand why so many people hate the man's vocals so much.

well, i've listened to "live undead" when it came out, since then, i've listened to every Slayer record, never really enjoyed one though... I respect them but cannot appreciate their music...

I really like the vocals in LoG, what do you think is the problem with it ?

They just aren't that good, they're not horrible, but they aren't good. I just dislike the sound.

I don't see how it sounds like Kill em All, at all. :o

You're an ---hole. Slayer f-cking owns live. Maybe if you actually owned a Slayer album, you'd know that their live set is almost always perfect.
