I don't know about you guys but I think AN is aiming for the throne. Every release is killer, every release is fresh. Pure awesomeness. Make this one your next buy.

They're miserable Brummie bastards who also play in Mistress, a sludgey grind band known for its nihilistic ferocity. I like that you can see the inherant humour of being English, Jeff, but we can be serious sometimes.

I am really enjoying this cd so far.I am still really partial to Eshcaton(sp?),but this new album is pretty awesome,I am happy they continue the sound of their last cd,while still harkening back to their early works.

But yeah, AN are awesome and noodles doesn't get it. I'm not
surprised. For those that don't have the album, there's a song
up on FETO-records Myspace: Clicky clicky

The album isn't released now either, it's release date is the 29th
of October. So, WRANG.

Either way, awesome album, awesome band.

It's more melodic than Eschaton, with plenty of clean vocal parts, very reminiscent of older Emperor, beautiful and majestic. But it's still full of grindy and deathy passages. I think they accomplished a great mixt. One of the best extreme albums of the year, no doubt about it.

I don't know, i think i'd like this band more if it didnt have those clean vocal parts.

I know what you mean. Much as I love Emperor, trying to ape them never really works.

A lot of people seem to have the opinion that AN are one of the best bands out there, but why the 84 and 74 scores on the reviews so far? I mean, they're not bad scores, but not something I'd expect from a band who's "aiming for the throne"...

BTW I've never heard anything by them.

Works for me just fine. The clean parts provide some breather from all the heaviness and madness of their music. This album would be tiring for me but for the clean parts. And I also like them on their own, I think they're quite inspired. The clean vocal choruses, I mean.

It would be better if the clean choruses didn't all sound the same.
