Always have to disagree with me. Why is everybody hating on the production? I really find nothing wrong with it.

No I don't seen much wrong with the production either, Walnut.

I'm still listening to this trying to work out how I feel.

Because it sounds like the band recorded the album in a giant marshmallow.

I thought it was good. However it's really just a standard Obituary album with cool solos. I really expected the sound to be a lot different with Santolla aboard, but it's not at all. I suspect Trevor Peres did all of the Riff-work and Ralph just laid down some solos Kirk Hammett style. I guess it makes sense since Allen West will be coming back after his jail-sentence is served. I did like the album, but I guess my expectations were too high. If you're a fan of Obituary you'll like it, but they certainly played it safe here.

My take on the production is I think they were trying to keep the Guitar sound as close to Allen's as possible, but without him they couldn't quite get it right.

It's another Obituary album, no more, no less. If you like them but can accept not having another album as great as Slowly or Cause then you'll like it. Otherwise, you'll be disappointed.

Ten to one there's a live album somewhere in the pipeline....

The more I listen to this the more I love it. am listening to it now on my headphones instead of crappy tinny speakers so at last can recognise what people mean about the production. But it's cool, it sounds all scuzzy and rotten, it's actually quite surreal when these crystal clear guitar solos emerge out of these mushy riffs. Exactly what the Obies needed to do imo.... has all the character of their classics but with a subtle twist.
