Just discovered this band not 15 minutes ago and am in love. For the longest time I've been searching for a band similar to Elvenking. I enjoy bands like Ensiferum, Trollfest, Korpiklaani, and Finntroll but I really prefer the clean vocals of a band like Elvenking.

This band isnt as heavy on the folk melodies as Elvenking is, but they are there.

http://www.spellblast.com/site.php - Their website allows you to listen to 6 songs from their new album (Horns of Silence) in 1:30 - 3:00 minute samples, depending on the song.

I have the same preferences. Elvenking, Falconer... those are my types of folk metal. This is pretty awesome too.

Forgot to mention I like Falconer too.. and Wuthering Heights, they can be pretty folky.

I ended up downloading the entire Horns of Silence album and its better than I expected, its now in my top 5 of the year, at least, and the 2 tracks, Glory To The Gem and Resurrection are amazing. Goblin's Song is pretty good as well and has more folkishness than any of the songs. I'm also pretty sure I heard Damnagoras singing a line or two on Sign of The Unicorns.

I definately need to get my hands on this.

EDIT - Just noticed Damnagoras singing quite abit in Lost In The Forest, awesome.

Glad to see Spellblast got a favourable review there.

Shame the new Elvenking isn't a folk metal album.

Silent Man - you must listen to Tuatha De Danann - you must! the vocals are mostly clean (very Andre Matos-like) and it is fairly similar to Elvenking but a bit crazier. Their newest album, Trova Di Danu is one of the best folk metal albums I've ever heard.
