I still think every song on this album is next to perfect. "And Then There Was Silence" is damn amazing. It still gives me chills.
I still can't believe that song is as long as it is. It seriously seems like that song is only 5 mintues long when I listen to it. Amazing.

As for the overall album, I don't think it's their best, but it is definitely a hit.

Quite a big miss by BG standards. "And Then There Was Silence" is one of the best metal songs ever, and "Battlefield" and The Soulforged" are also very good, but the rest ranges from pretty good to "what a fucking mess!". They tried to put ideas for 3 albums into this one and it just doesn't work all the time.

I agree, very well said.

I agree too. I wouldn't call it a big miss though, it's an ok album, but it's definitely a drop in quality after the amazing IFTOS and NIME. But I agree with the description of the album. I'd add Precious Jerusalem to the "very good" list too.

My thoughts exactly.

The album is a hit for me, but it's as frustrating at times as it is brilliant. Musically, you can't ask for much more, but the production leaves so much to be desired. Still, And Then There was Silence is one of the greatest metal epics ever, and there are some other amazing creations. This album begs for a remastering someday.

I've never had any problems with the production...I dunno, must just be me.

I got Nightfall a couple days ago. It's awesome as well, although I think I prefer ANATO, especially with Kursch's vocals.
