Is the remastered much better than the 1997 version? Or is there no difference, apart from bonus tracks, demo versions etc, which I'm not that interested in?

It's not a huge difference soundwise. The remaster is louder than the original, but the original was still a really good mix to begin with. You won't be missing out on all of that much if you do pick up the original over the remaster. You need it in your collection regardless.

This is an album in my mind that was perfect the way it was, therefore a remaster seems really unnecessary. I think you should get the original. You can't really go wrong, however, this is an album so incredibly great that pretty much no mix or production could take away from the listening experience. One of the all time classics.

I have the remaster with the bonus songs, and I really like the way it sounds, though I'm not much of a fan for the bonus material. It's not cool when you get to the last track of the album, and everything fades away the way it's supposed to, and then all of a sudden a demo from the late 80's rears its very unwelcome head.

i don't get the fuss about this album. it's got one really really good song (Night's Blood) and some strong moments, but other than that..

I've got the remastered 2CD version. The second CD contains the whole album with the original sound. I really recommend this one!
